ITT: Obscure 10/10 albums
any scaruffite worth his salt has heard that OP
>>60277236
I was a scaruffite once... It was not a good time.
>>60277359
>>60277540
>>60277566
not obscure
>>60277359
I've been meaning to get into these guys. Where do I start?
>>60277292
>>60277236
Scaruffi, while he's shit on some of my favorite albums, generally has good taste. there are only a few albums hes rated 8 or higher that Ive heard and disliked
this isn't my homeboard, so apologies if this isn't obscure.
I've loved this album for a long time, though
>>60277627
about just as obscure as ops album
good choice

>King Crimson - Red
>Obscure
>>60278220
6/10 album at best imo
>>60277614
this is so good
thanks man, never would have found that otherwise
>>60278257
Yeah some of the songs aren't that great, but I've always thought it to be an interesting precursor to something like Spiderland.
Bitch Magnet's discography is pretty solid overall. Their followup Ben Hur is pretty good as well.
>>60277762
My nigga! I came to post this.
ARRRKHAM HEEEAAARSEEE
Any more obscurinos, neighborinos?
For what it is
>>60278012
Pheonix was better IMO
One of the best things you'll ever hear honestly.
>>60277762
>to put it simply boys and girls, Howard was a twitch!
A personal 10/10 of mine.
>>60278287
>>60278610
Maybe not 10/10 but I agree they are fantastic
>>60277769
any antiwarholite worth his salt has heard that
This is a good thread
>>60281006
hello fellow scarufferite
but I wouldn't even call Fontanelle obscure, they were released on a major label for pete's sake. Seriously underrated album nonetheless
>>60281227
Fair enough. I took "obscure" as meaning "hardly anybody today knows it exists" but I guess you're right in saying that it's not totally obscure. Regardless, it is pretty underrated.
>YOU DON'T TRY TO RAPE A GODDEEEEEESSSSSS
>>60278261
not obscure
>>60277762
i like this album d e s u
>>60280865
this looks dope. I'll check it out, thanks my man :)
>>60281602
<3 this album, they're like english Stereolab
>>60278610
If you like this you will probably love Roy Montgomery's stuff, it's really similar to this but has more of a spacey vibe, less raw but still underproduced in a good way.
>>60281639
hey, I love Quickspace and have never checked out Stereolab so I will now
thanks for the rec my friend :)
Best punk related album of the decade
>>60282047
>Female Vocals
>3.15 average on rym
I dont think so
I wouldn't reaaly consider it obscure, but compared to the albums that have been posted so far it is
Anyway, it's some cool mix of neofolk and prog rock.
>>60277693
this
>>60283235
are you the same guy who responded to this album last time I posted it, are we really the only 2 people on here that know about this masterpiece?
>>60283433
3 now, im going to give it a shot
Can't believe /mu/ hasn't discovered this band desu
>>60278573
What is this?
>>60283433
haha i might of been, i found about a few months ago from nowagain record's website
Got this from fucking jazzthreadguy of all people
Very Zappa-esque.
>>60283455
great! You wont be disappointed, if you need a link to the album I can hook you up. These two need more recognition for the awesome album they made together. I looked at the release page for the repress and all of the comments were either from family or friends. It was sad but in a way fitting to see that those were their biggest fans.
>>60283612
Nice :) the repress is really helping them gain new fans and I'm loving it.
>>60283731
favorite song off the album? i think mine is neighborhood blues
>>60283937
Life without love, the second half always gets me:
"I don't care,
I don't care,
I don't care,
I don't care,
I don't care,
yes I do!"
the whole guitar from beginning to end is just amazing and ethereal sounding. My friend described it as "acoustic post-punk"
>>60283433
It's not even that obscure. It got reissued recently and was even reviewed by Pitchfork. It's a pretty good album though and still underrated.
>>60277769
anybody got a link?
>>60277217
My favorite band? Oh you've probably never heard of them
>>60277968
Windows xp for the win!
like if you're a 90's kid XDDDD
upboated :^)
This is in the archive somewhere I'm pretty sure, Black Santa could have been the saviors of modern emo if they didn't break up, very briefly get back together than inexplicably delete all their bandcamp and social media pages. Sorry for the bad quality pic btw, it's all I could find on Google images
>>60284768
Okay you can't even see the title in this pic, but it's called Sorry If This Is Weird by Black Santa.
>>60284611
considering the small amount of people that listened to it, it kind of is pretty obscure even if P4k did review it.
Here is another gem, yes it did get reissued but I've never seen this mentioned anywhere.
The perfect middle man between prog and post-rock
>>60282175
the best way to make yourself look like a dummy
>>60284641
It's in the archive
>>60278573
what this be?
>>60285524
it won't work
unless I'm searching the wrong language/translation
>>60277217
i like the cover so ill give this a try
