Actually...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQYtU-bzRho
>>
Ambient big band would be cool.
The band members could be scattered around an area all playing the same soft thing, so the texture would change depending on the proximity of different instruments.
You could do synth a Capella if you only use vocal samples played with a synth, and you could do acoustic chiptune if the chip has acoustic instruments. Alternatively, some chips support samples and you could try putting an acoustic guitar chord in there or something. It would probably sound degraded as fuck.
>>60263262
Throw some effects on an early r&b recording. Badaboom.
>>60263314
Ballads were really fashionable for metal bands in the 80's and early 90's. Power metal is pretty light in a way.
>>60263344
There are recordings of data gathered from planets converted to noise or something. They could always just record shuttle ambience. I'm not sure if a mic would get fucked up in actual space.

>>
>>60263673
Okay, so play light, polyrhythmic folk on an acoustic guitar ran through a big noisy pedalboard with a dude fucking with the pedals to the point that it obscures the rhythm.
"Noise can't have rhythm" is a dumb rule though. Fuck school though.

I think that house in 3/4 could still be house though

>>
>>60265564
Not only is house always 4/4, it has to be four on the floor specifically. Otherwise it's not house.
>>

I think there's a song on deadmau5's album 4x4=12 in 6 that otherwise is a house song, what do you say about that?

Minimalist New Complexity.
>>
>>60265519
Ok

Most basic example I can think of: Tim Hecker made an entire career out of mixing them.
>>
>>60265604
>>60265807
The intro does feel like a waltz. The rest of the track is house for sure, but that's because the bass line on this part of the track would be identified as 4/4 if you stripped everything else out. If anything it's 12 time (4/4 bass line with each kickdrum hit subdivided in three parts by other instruments.)
>>
>>60265427
of course you can mix ambient and noise
>>
>>60266269
Sure, you could call it 12/8 with four on the floor bass.

I just think it's silly to say that you couldn't have three on the floor house. I can't point to any examples but there's no reason it shouldn't work.
>>
>>60266376
I think you could have three on the floor dance music that would sound good and be danceable, but it wouldn't be house.

I think what you're saying is that pop music will never stop being made, so it's impossible to be "after" pop music. But post-rock coexists with rock and post-punk coexists with punk. So I don't think that's quite right.

i actually tried to start a proggresive reggae band (emphasis on odd time signatures and actually using huge chord proggresions that make the song fly through several keys and shit and develop motifs etc) with a friend, but she turned out to be a musically illiterate plebian and her guitarist friend who could 'shred' could literally not play guitar if his life depended on it. I have never been more dissapointed in my life bc i though i was gonna have the most fun EVER.
Thanks for reading my blog

his bandcamp with all his albums is literally on the fuckin page. Its not about spoonfeeding, its just common sense to look 1st rather than be a lazy shit.
