We have a distributor here in my country so I got it from them. I like the asymmetric neck more than Wizard necks but would prefer a flatter radius than 12" and the bridge and tailpiece feel a bit cheap. They are made in Korea. Also only a gigbag. Still, it's a very good guitar for under 800 euros and comes with Duncans.

Can anyone identify the chords the rythym guitarist (the guy closest to the camera) is playing?
It's like 5 chords but I'm bad at identifying since I'm still a bit new.

Yeah i know but i was looking less gear wise and more setup wise, like where to put my fingers and mid, bass, and treble controls (i have a squire jaguar jbass [the one with the single humbucker in the bridge] and a fender 15w rumble)
Also that woman didnt play bass on the album Ken Fossi did

I tried a Black Fountain... holy fuck this thing sounds fucking beautiful.

Now I'm split on whether sticking to my Flashback or selling it and getting the Fountain. I'm love with how it sounds, but I'm also a poorfag, so I can't have both. I'm worried I might miss the versatility of the Flashback.

Moving up in the world from where you were at the beginning of the year hey?

I'm halfway through moving. Actually have a real amplifier again. It's the only thing besides the stereo that's setup in the entire house so far haha.
>>
>>60262955
I assume you're talking about when they first start at 2:23?

Capo at seventh fret, chords relative to the capo -

Main progression: Dm C B Gm
Turn-around: Dm C/G B C

Not absolutely sure about the turnaround, it's kind of hard to hear over the vocals and other guitar, but it's pretty close
>>
>>60262955
I found a better version, what are the four chords he's using?

I know he's using a d but I still suck at it.

I'm suprised anybody remembers me actually, this was the setup a year ago. What a difference having a decent job and checking craigslist daily makes.I'm hoping to get rid of this 8x10 soonish, or trade the Sovtek for a nice Orange.

If you look at the liner notes to that album's reissue, Arthur Lee himself admits the band was struggling with drug habits, WAY out of practice and couldn't play the parts until very late in the session. And yet, that album was recorded in a mere 65 hours of studio time.
It is only logical that the bulk of the album was completed with the help of session musicians, meaning Carol Kaye did more than just supervise during those sessions-she was a very active participant.

I read most /gg/ threads so yeah haha. If the 8x10 is actually decent quality hang onto it, never know. If it's just some junker then yeah, flip it.

I'm going to add a second 4x12 to my setup so I can do jams without people needing to bring anything. My DSL comes back this week too, will be the first I've used it in almost a year.

Having the absurdly powerful receiver amplifier on top of the 6505 makes me laugh a bit too.

It's in rough shape, no tolex, 3~ inch hole in the back, and I had to build a grill from scratch for it, as can be seen. It sounds fine, I swapped out 2 of the torn speakers but theres still another in rough shape. It's just such a pain in the ass to move, and it's really just a slave unit in my current setup. I would much rather sell it on the cheap to somebody looking for something serviceable.

Also how fucking cool is this

The low A is very clear and he definitely hits the open high E, but it might be an accident since he never lets it ring out. It's for sure not a D major, there's no third in the chord
>>
>>60264007
Dude relax.
A Precision is the most common and cloned bass in the world.
Likewise, the SR is just an amp with the standard Fender 3 knob tone stack that everyone and their brother has already copied, and it's sound is essentially loud and clean.
So that's it. That's the deep, dark secret to that bass tone. Get the most common bass in the world and get a sound that's clean and tight. Any number of amps can do that as long as you have sufficient power.
>>
>>60264395

There's a minor second between A# and B.
The chord's name is F#7(11)
The B is native to F# major so that's our fourth scale degree(or eleventh as we'll call it) and the E is our seventh. We've got a major triad with F#A#C#
>>
>>60264461

>>
How's the transition of going from 6 to 7 strings?

For some reason, 7 strings seems like the ultimate versatile instrument. Play pop music and go straight to djent territory straight away.
>>
>>60264963
So it excludes the 9th which would be G#.
>>
>>60264987
6 to 7 is easy if you get something with a relatively thin neck (Ibanez). It's really just a six string with a low B. The shift from 7s to 8s can be a bit weird, but I ended up going back to 6s and 7s.

What you'll find is you'll hit the wrong strings quite a bit for awhile. You'll also need to mute the B string to do anything on the E, which you probably won't be used to.

The first one is the way your instructor wrote it, the second one is the way it really is. It works as a substitution, but the only reason to simplify it like that would be if you can't bend yet.
Remember that little lick doesn't start right on the downbeat, it starts a sixteenth note after the beat. It'll throw off the feel completely if you time it wrong

Played a Progression Plus in a guitar store a few years ago. Honestly beats any American Standard Strat I have ever played. It had a loud middly ring acoustically and an oiled neck with rolled edges. The neck especially made an impression on me. Obviously they have the cheaper models (which are still excellent) but at around a grand they are superb.

I always used to be amazed how many post rock bands weren't using fuzzes, or if they were, they were using BOSS shite.

My band played a couple shows, and honestly, my best gain has been the EHX graphic fuzz, which is more of a bold distortion.

I'm coming to find that with all that reverb and gain, to clip and compress with the fuzz like that makes you drop out and sound like a wall of nothing in the mix really fast. I took my big fuzz off the board, and practices have seemed a lot better mixed since then.

Look into hybrid picking or "chicken pick'n". Learn that technique early on.

In some instances, though, you can mute the unplayed string with one of your fretting fingers and strum it along with the strings you mean to play.

Orange is fine for what you want, but since you're in Freedomland, you have a whole world of options in that price range on the used market too
For instance, look at a Silverface Fender Bassman. Goes for about 500-600 all day long, and a SF Fender is THE amp of the 70s funk and R&B bands. That clean tight sound is effortless, and overdrive is there too if you plug into both channels and turn both volumes up.

>>60267423
Tina Weymouth from TH mostly used a Fender Mustang short scale bass due to her small hands, but she also used a Fender Jazz for her Tom Tom Club side project.
Either way, what makes he great is not the equipment she uses, but her sense of rhythm and time. Propelling a song while both playing outside the beat and not losing time is a very difficult skill to master.

There are lots of ways.
Some people lift up the pick slightly and then lower it at the correct string to pick the note.
Others pluck the additional string(s) with the free fingers on their pick hand at the same time as they pick the low note with their pick.
Some do combinations of all this as the circumstances require.
