Actually Sour Milk Sea was recorded. It appears as a bonus track on a counterfeit mono version of "The White Album". It's not really a good version, but it IS a good song nonetheless. I'm surprised The Beatles didn't clean it up and legally include it on the third Anthology album.

If you carry an attitude like that, yet you want to dig deeper into The Beatles music, I can only suggest a limited few items: The song Revolution #9 from "The White Album" (And you can even play the song backwards for twice as much whacky silliness) a song that appears on bootlegs of the Get Back/Let it Be recording sessions that's either called "John (Yoko's calling)" or "Revolting" depending on what edition you possess at the moment. You might also enjoy John and Yoko's first album, "Two Virgins" and a Yoko Ono album simply called "Fly" even though John does play guitar on it. Another recommendation would be the song, "Don't Worry, Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking for Her Hand in The Snow)" which is another Yoko Ono single. If you can't get into The Beatles after listening to these songs, then there's no hope that you'll ever like The Beatles.

Paul being a controlling shit ass made George and Ringo hate being in the Beatles, and John was wanting to move in a different direction. Instead of working together, Paul just continued to be a shitass. He wanted to write good ol fashioned fruity Beatles songs (see- Maxwell's Silver Hammer), and John wanted to move forward and do new music (see- Come Together, Across the Universe).
I'm not bashing Paul as a musician because he wrote some songs with the Beatles that make me cry but as a band member he tore the Beatles apart.
