Digging the vocals. Any tips for how to achieve good reverb blend like that while mixing?
>>55352458
Sounds VERY Big Black to me, mainly the drums. Crazy how that can take it in a different direction. More aggressive vocals would suit me but this is still really good!

i had actually been racking my brain for a while, playing with effects to achieve a cool reverb. What I did was record three different vocals, one on L, one on R, and one in center. each one had a light reverb to it. then i mixed them all together in a single track, which i equalized, compressed, and then added reverb. then i added another layer of reverb to the final mastered track. that seems to have done the trick. however, if anyone has a better way of doing it, please feel free to let me know! i'm still working on getting better at producing.

You mastered the track then went back into the studio to put more reverb?
Wat? Mastering is usually the final step
>>55353336
i mean i mixed all the tracks together, put one final layer of reverb to the whole thing, and then mastered it.

I'm currently working on a small acoustic album with a few acoustic covers and some originals, for now I just wanna share this particular track, my own interpretation of Agalloch's "Kneel To The Cross", with some influences from the original song written by Sol Invictus. I'm almost certain you'll like it, I did my best to blend elements from both the original and Agalloch's cover, while adding my own bluesy influences for something unique.

i'm honestly a bit intrigued by your album, i actually like the random bits of harsh noise. i think you could do something pretty sweet with these ideas.

anyways, yeah these guitar riffs are pretty cool. tasty chord changes. i think better production could do you really well though. current production leaves it a bit empty imo. otherwise, pretty solid stuff man
>>55353303
fucking love that album cover, works so well with the music. this is the kind of ambient i want to hear, relaxing and a bit melancholic. mysterious. reminds me of a strings orchestra playing some slow movement./ the keys are beautiful when they kick in towards the end of the first track. minimalist but moving. love it, highly recc'd
>>55352493
thank you so much for your kind words man. I've been planning on returning to that kind of abrasive post punk sound in the future. currently working on a psych rock/goth influenced 70s prog rock esque album. being really meticulous with it, i'm expecting to be finished with it late this year

Quite a formula you've got going on here. I love the effects you've got on the vocals. I'm also hearing some shades of post-punk, especially the later side of it in the guitar riffs. I am certainly looking forward to whatever you do next in this style.
>>55352413
You guys are quite a tight group. I love the way the vocals sound in the improvised tracks. I also especially love near the end of the first track where one of the guitarist(s?) were toying around with lots of effects, which gave it somewhat of an atmosphere and a build up. Really all in all it sounds like you have all been playing for a while together. There were a few rough spots, but when you were all hanging onto each other, it sounded quite energetic and fluid.
Definitely would come see you jam if I could.
