To get into "Krautrock", you should start with the usual suspects:
Can: especially Tago Mago (1971), Ege Bamyasi (1972), and Future Days (1973)
Faust: especially Faust (1971), Faust IV (1973)
NEU!: especially Neu! (1972)
Popol Vuh: especially In den Gärten Pharaos (1971), Hosianna Mantra (1972), Aguirre (1975), and Brüder des Schattens, Söhne des Lichts (1978)
Don't forget about Amon Düül, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream etc.
The best-known albums are often the best, but you should also listen to albums that aren't posted often, like Rufus Zuphall's Weiß der Teufel ...
