It seems to me that QOTSA is the closest to being unanimously appreciated by /mu/. Really, you cannot find any flaw in this band.
>>
I don't like them.
>>
They're not nearly as popular on /mu/ as they were back in 2012, when the hype for their new album was at an all-time high.
>>
they're a great gateway band for plebs to start listening to some good shit

Plenty of flaws, but I still enjoy them a lot. They just do what they do really well.
>>
>>55156100
The album turned out to be great tho. Their 2nd best work.
>>
>>55156172
*3rd

>>55156172
*6th
>>
>>55156172
5th best if you include Sky Valley and Blues for the Red Sun
>>
>you cannot find any flaw in this band

Proves that mu uses shit audio equipment for their music listening. Their music quality is almost unbearable to listen with any decent audio system. Can artist stop going to the loudness war maymay? Its embarrassing to both the artist and listeners alike.
>>
>>55156214
this, the only QOTSA album with good production is rated r
>>
>>55156209
and why would you do that? (i agree though)
>>
Well written music.
>>
Qotsa is my favourite band. I love them alot. they are fantastic.
>>
>>55156229
>doesn't like the grainy production of s/t

Nah that's Fall Out Boy
>>
>>55156238
>and why would you do that?
IDK man, do whatever you want
>>
>>55156229
>like clockwork didnt have good production....
> every proffesional producer i know thinks its amazing from a production stand point

nah i guess ill take some guy from a Vietnamese pottery image websites opinion instead.
>>
The objective ranking of QOTSA's discog: Rated R > ...Like Clockwork > S/T > SFTD > LtP > Era Vulgaris

Also you're fucking retarded if you think the production on ...Like Clockwork is shit.
>>
>>55156302
>every proffesional producer i know

seems legit
>>
>>55156067
>you cannot find any flaw in this band
qotsa, rated r and lullabies are shitty mixed
>>
the reason everyone love qotsa is simple. they have it all.

swag *see smooth sailing*

groove *see misfit love*

wierdness *see the fun machine too a shit and died*

heaviness *see anything from songs for the dead*

Beauity *see suture up your future*

Artistic direction *see every album being starkly different yet still maintaining stylistic consistancy*

masterful lyricism *see if i had a tail*

they really dont have a weak point.
>>
>>55156103
this must be true, because this thread is overflowing with plebs

>they're popular so they're a pleb band
>>
Songs for the Deaf is in my top 3 albums ever.

I tried listening to Rated R and Lullabies to Paralyze but I didn't like 'em.
>>
>>55156420
Man, I really wish I could be as cool as you guys, and listen to shitty music that no one cares about in order to feel better about the fact that no one likes me because I'm an anally retentive asshole who sees every conversation as a battle for mental superiority.
>>
yeah okay, if you disrgard the fact that they are essentially buttrock
>>
>>55156515
Your projection could power the bat signal
>>
>>55156331
You got the right idea but

Rated R > SftD > ...Like Clockwork > s/t > Era Vulgaris > LtP
>>
>>55156491
rated R is ironically over rated.

i really like it but its not their best album by a fucking long shot and it seems like everyone acts like its their magnum opus.

its not.

and lullibies is good but thats about it. i like some of the songs on there buts not anywhere near their best

IMO #1 like clockwork #2 songs for the deaf #3 era vulgaris
>>
>>55156552
I've been working on it, I'm getting better though.
I'm getting better.

Things that helped get into them too was shit like seeing Josh Holme doing different projects and kinda just doing what he does the entire time but with variation, it's refreshing.
Anybody else ever have weird progressions for getting into bands?
>>
>>55156790
Yeah, I have that kind of progression too sometimes. I missed out on their dual show with NIN because I wasn't a big fan of them at the time and regret it.

i've never listened to an album of theirs but saw them live in 2013
they put a great show and frontman was a great performer
>>
>>55156933
Kyuss isnt good and you fucking know it.

its less interesting early sound garden with a shit singer and terrbile production.

Well done best band ever.
>>
>>55157013
kyuss production > qotsa production for me
im more of a qotsa fan doh
>>
>>55157004
QOTSA is one of the best acts live. Their I Appear Missing live version is absolutely breathtaking, especially the extended instrumental solos near the end.

Though, you don't want to disturb Josh while he is playing.

>projecting projections
>>
>>55156985
Not at all. I find it quite funny really.
>>
>>55156790
No idea man, I got a bunch of desert rock recc's thought from a classmate though.
Listening to some Unida band, they sound like earlier queens stuff. Also some band called Karma To Burn, they're alright.
Then there's Orange Goblin and Kyuss which are pretty good. Even Clutch to a certain extent.
>>
>>55156209
You should not. Those are albums by Kyuss, not QOTSA.

Here is the official ranking of QOTSA albums:
>Like Clockwork>Songs For The Deaf>Rated R>Lullabies To Paralyze>Era Vulgaris

I like a couple of their albums (the blue one and the red one from the early 2000s, fucked if I can remember the names)

Everything since has been shit

Like Clockwork is way too fucking loud. Brickwalled loud not good loud.
