I was literally JUST studying to this.
I tend to look to minimal glitch/idm/techno for studying because, unlike ambient, it usually doesn't try to set up a theme or visual aesthetic for you to ponder. It's clean, precise, unintrusive, and helps align my attention to what I'm supposed to be working on. Pure left brain music.
Sorry if that sounds pretentious. It's just that I've always had a lot of trouble focusing, and I've found that this kind of music seems to work the best at drowning out outside noises without becoming a distraction itself.
Look into a checking out a record label called 'Raster-Noton' if you haven't already heard of it.

you won't be able to sleep for days after you see it. it's not just disturbing tho. there are some really memorable comic scenes, but also very dark at the same time. makes you wonder how fucked up mind david lynch has. basically, if i had to summarize what eraserhead is, i would say it's like david firth's stuff, only with a lot more meaning, substance and coherence. the music is also very avant-garde and i have a feeling its aesthetic influenced a number of today's lo-fi and noise artists.
