I am looking for a new Mp3 player. I would like to find one with 130gb or greater storage (Either internal or expandable) So far the Fiio x5 seems to be the best option. Anyone else have any opinions?
>>
>>54545416
iPod Classic obviously
>>
Sansa clip+ is the only answer.
That or just use your mobile phone.
>>
>>54545433
I have a classic and I am attempting to get away from it. I am not a fan

>>54545453
What makes the Sansa so good? And absolutely not to my phone.
>>
>>54545545

You can play FLAC and it has an expandable SD card slot
>>
>>54545433
Out of production now, they cost most than ever.
>>
>>54545576
>and you have to install rockbox on it and the UI is terrible

If you really want bang for your buck get a fiio
>>
I have an X1 and I love it, but I wish it was capable of scrobbling like a clip
>>
>>54545576
you can play flac on an android and it has expandable memory
>>
>>54545661

nigga he said he didnt want to use his phone
>>
>>54545624
>>54545638
So Fiio isn't a piece of shit?
>>
>>54545624
Installing rockbox isn't hard at all.
>>
>>54545624
>UI is terrible
says that and then recommends a Fiio
>>
>>54545681
I have an x1 and I like it.

>>54545688
I'll give you that, but the UI is absolutely terrible. I'd rather spend the extra 60 bucks on a fiio
>>
>>54545681

It's not perfect, but it is a very nice product, and fairly reasonably priced
>>
>>54545681
Fiio is garbage, poor construction and will fail on every level.
There's a new Sony Walkman with 64GB built in and accepts SD cards up to 128GB, for 192 total. It's the NWZA17 and it's under 300 bucks.
>>
>>54545728
And it plays FLAC too...
>>
how does the sansa clip sound? i know this sounds like a dumb question, but does it sounds like an ipod or something? i don't know how to explain it. :(
>>
>>54545814

It sounds better than a classic, but I have no idea how it compares to a touch/iphone.
>>
>>54545814

It sounds similar to every other PMP. What you listen to on it will matter more.

I have a clip+ and 128 GB microsd and am very satisfied with it. I might get one of those 200 GB ones if they drop in price from $400.
>>
which sansa clip is the best: regular, zip, or sport?
>>
>>54545453
>Sansa clip+ is the only answer.
Not if you plan on having more than 10 albums.
>>
>i-it it plays flac!

Just cause it plays a lossless codec does not make it good. It's a portable player, the entire idea of portable players is to butcher your lossless files that are on your computer by converting them to tiny-file-size-mp3 and load them on your player to save space.

On a the most expensive most hyped portable player, a beautiful CD-quality flac rip is going to sound like an mp3 anyway. So you mine as well just use mp3s.

The DACs are just not that good.

With that said, get a Sansa Clip+. Unless you're a dummy and want to throw all your money away.
>>
>>54545887

>expendable storage
>>
>>54545728
>>54545757
the fiio actually has better constuction
and it has a FFFFAAAARRRR better dac.
the walkman is a fucking hiss monster
>>
>>54545893

I've had both an X1 and a Sansa Clip, and I have to say that the clip, while cheaper, broke very quickly. Meanwhile, I've had my x1 for ~6 months and dropped it in a liquid and it still works very, very well.
>>
>>54545877
Clip+

iBasso DX90
Only 8gb internal but has micro sd slot. Also can play flac. Costs bit much maybe(400$)
>>
>>54545906
That isn't what I'm referring to. You'd have to be a masochist to enjoy browsing a decent sized library on a clip.
>>
>>54545936
You're on crack, seriously... the fiio is a cheap piece of shit and there's no hiss on the walkman. The DAC talk is all snakeoil, you fool.
>>
>>54545974

I've had my clip+ for two years, done
>>
>>54546027
Overpriced... people it's all digital, wake the fuck up. This device will not sound better than others.
>>
>>54546057

Oops. Done a lot of workouts with it, dropped it on concrete multiple times, still works fine.

>>54546036

I have a large library and it works fine with rockbox and browsing by folder view.

Not exactly what you look for, but this bitch charges at the speed of diarrhea, has the sound quality of angels and is very portable being just an usb stick.

Pity its 8gb and mp3/wma only.

Still i would recommend like the motherfucking fist of the north star.
>>
>>54545974
did you throw your clip around the room? I've had my clip+ for 3+ years and have had no problem with it at all. I bought a new one just incase and it's still in it's box. Don't think I will need another portable player in my life.

If you want to burn some money away then this is your answer. Looks great and you'll definitely be most hipster in the room
>>
>>54546106
I dunno how it happened, it just sort of broke in my pocket. I broke the volume control on the side, and it was annoying to have to go into the settings in order to adjust the volume.

That thing is definitely gorgeous, but $900?

Worst suggestion

Do you belittle the beliefs and thoughts of others because you yourself are insecure?

wasn't really serious suggestion. Just wanted to gooles some weird cool players.

ok well just something to think about

i've never understood why people want mp3 players with more than 100gb. it's more fun to me to have a 16-32gb so you have to switch around a bit instead of just dumping everything you got.
gets a bit overwhelming imo but maybe i'm one of a kind
>>
>>54546363
do you psychoanalyze people on an anonymous image board because you're insecure?
>>
>>54546368

>everything you got
>100 GB

I've got ~800 GB, it's fun to pick and choose 128 of it
>>
>>54546403
yes, but admission is the first step towards fixing problems
>>
>>54546368
I have 32gb and its getting too small. I want to have some space for podcasts and lots for music because you never know what kind of music you want to listen to at certain times. I did have 120gb player and did notice how much music I never listened to was on it. just to fill it up. Then again I only used mp3 format
>>
OP here. I want large storage because I keep the bulk of my library on my portable to save space on my computers hard drive.
>>
on the page for the Clip+ on the Sandisk website it says memory can only be expanded by up to 32GB using an SD card? is this true?
>>
>>54546543
oi m8, you know 5 terabit back ups only cost like $150 right?
>>
Is it me or it´s bulldhit to browse 130g of data on a small player?
>>
>>54546565

128 with rockbox, 32 on vanilla UI, and you need to use rockbox, it's miles better than vanilla and has more features.
>>
>>54546589
especially one without touch screen? my ipod's scroll wheel was a bitch and i never listened to everything
>>
>>54546256
Soon gonna buy a one m8 as well.
Most definitely will stil use my clip +
Why would you waste storage/battery for music on your phone? I guess years of shitty cell battery has accustomed me to it but I will never have a phone as my main music source.

As for the full library, fuck you, I hate most of my music sometimes.
>>
>>54546368
You are just not autismus
>>
Why do none of these use sound commands..
>>
>>54546412
How the fuck do you have 800gb? I haven't even gotten past 20gb. Then again, I don't give a shit about FLAC.
>>
>>54546620
Well yeah one without touchscreen. It looks like the only one posted here who's touchscreen is the fiio and most of us says its shit.
>>
>>54546605
ahh i see, thank you
>>
>>54546626
>gonna buy a m8 as well
the m9 is almost out...
>Why would you waste storage/battery for music on your phone?
it's battery will last you a day and a half with moderate music and phone use
>>
>>54546679
sorry i didn't mean to use a ?.
>>
>>54546742
Ok so is there any with touchscreen, expandable data? Im looking for one
>>
>>54546605
It has brickmania!
>>
>>54546774
sry m8. mp3 with touch screens have to compete with smartphones. that's not really a market most companies want to compete with.
>>
>>54546677

It's all MP3 or lossy. I've listened to a lot of music over the years and don't delete since I share it on slsk.

>>54546837

I'd be lying if I didn't say I've spent quite a few hours playing that while listening to music. The powerups are bullshit, there are only like two positive ones and they spawn so much.
>>
>>54546837
Be careful, though, because Rockboxing mine lead to some issues with freezing and my computer not always recognizing it. But I'm bad with stuff like that, so it's probably my fault
>>
>>54546725
Broke ass college student indifferent to the new additions to the m9.

>it's battery will last you a day and a half with moderate music and phone use

My clip+ lasts me well over a full day as well and my phone is pretty much all internet/games/movies so the stress on its battery are already significant.
>>
what's battery life like on the Clip+?
>>
>>54547013
sorry didn't see the post above me
>>
>>54547013
feels eternal

i just plug it into my pc every couple of days to sync to last.fm and i never even notice being short on battery

seriously, it lasts
>>
OP again. I have a 30gb ipod classic that i may just dump files from my old ipod to. I never thought I would say this but looking at the arguments here is actually look like an ipod classic may be my best choice.
>>
>>54547013
I've had it for about 2 1/2 years now and I can easily use it moderately for 2 days until it's dead. Charges at a decent rate as well, though I do use anker charger so I'm not sure how much that skews it.

Thats somehow retarded. Yet its not a prolific market. Yet theres people like us who want one which isnt a tool ipod touch
>>
Sansa Clip+ is everything you want a portable audio player to be.

And the best part is, it doesn't try to willy wonka you with bullshit internet apps or touch screen features.

It's probably one of the few portable players on the market that is JUST an audio player.

Very straight forward 'no bullshit' device.
>>
>>54546076
>it's all digital
your ears are digital? do you have a TOSLINK socket in your cochlea?
>>
can the clip+ take micro SDs larger than 32??

Try competing with smartphones and the iPod touch. It's a niche market that might not be prolific
