really fantastic recent jazz album, though it's not really traditional and very influenced by middle eastern music. Features some great musicians too like Avishai Cohen (trumpet), Joel Frahm, Yehonatan Avishai and of course Omer Avital.

Avishai Cohen on trumpet? I saw a concert near my town. He play the double bass very well and he has a pretty warm and interesting voice. I didn't knew he play hte tumpet too

I don't really listen to that much albums of those israelis I just usually see them live or just see some youtube videos of them (pleb, I know). Two other israeli Jazz albums that I like would be Rotem Sivan - For Emotional Use Only and Eli Degibri - Twelve. But New Song is better, New Song is really world class I think.
And if you want I can just namedrop some jazz musicians I like from here. Gilad Hekselman, Shai Maestro, Nitai Hershkovich, Aharala Kaminski, Ofri Nehemiah, Omri Mor, and so on.
