I saw John Hopkins play earlier this year and really liked his set, same with Clark. Andy Stott has always been a favorite of mine though, check him out if you can.
I have a friend who put a sort of side project of Stott's, Millie & Andrea, higher on his 'Best of' list for last year so that might be worth a check.

Producer here, the only recent stuff which caused some controversy on forums like Gearslutz as far as i know were Justice - Cross, and Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites
I also cant remember everything else what was interesting in terms of sound design since then.
