I randomly got invited to a college party and played raw drum machine techno (Blawan, Surgeon, early Aphex etc.) to 500 18 year olds and it went off. Literally the best gig I've ever played. Partied way harder than the beardy 30 year olds I normally play to.

It's funny i'm the opposite, i find most of the sets by well-known respected DJs to be a bit boring and the same old things. If I watch Boiler Room (and i rarely do) I go looking for the more the offbeat, outsider, sloppy mixes with more interesting tracklists and shit I've never heard before. I can look past a bit of amateurish mixing if it's tracks i'm actually curious to hear and not just the same house/edm every single other well known website has each week.
