And honestly, I would be heart broken. I gift things to my lover because I love him. If he were to reject it, it would certainly hurt me. I remember the first time I gifted my ex a car, and his reaction was better than anything else. I wish I could see that innocent smile again... I hope I get another boyfriend before I turn too old. I'm sure your feelings are quite genuine. Unfortunately I don't think I would be able to handle it. I was a shut-in/reclusive through a significant part of my life, and I know that after receiving a $50 gift card once, I was reduced to an awkward stammering mess. I would probably not know how to express my appreciation and perhaps cry if someone like you were to come into my life. I would feel undeserving.
