ITT: albums that'd be better as an instrumental album.
The Smiths
>>53774972
wtf no you better shut up
All hip hop.
Any 2nd gen King Crimson album
Not counting Clare Torry's vocals on GGITS
>>53774972
>>53775174
Completely wrong
>>53775204
Seriously? The lyrics on that album are outstanding. I think they should have cut Money though... ruins the flow.
>>53774992
As little attention as I actually pay to the lyrics on this masterpiece, I still like them as sort of background harmonics.
>>53775204
That's a great song.
>>53774972
agree
Gibbons' singing is amazing
>>53775380
every Bjork album
/SOG/ Shit Opinions General
"cum"
>>53774972
This would probably be one of my favorite albums if it didn't have any vocals.
>>53774972
>ITT: plebs not liking beth gibbons' amazing voice
>>53774972
>2/10 b8
>>53775434
2/10 taste
>>53774972
>>53775204
>>53775380
u niggas can't be serious
Agreed OP. People always rant and rave about Beth Gibbons. I can't stand her voice. It's so grating.
>>53776506
your probably op and bumping your own thread and youre only saying it to upset ppl anyway its not fair you should have to stop it
>>53776698
You should have to stop typing with ironic tumblr grammar and run on sentences.
>>53774972
Any NIN album
Tha Carter IV
>>53776894
the vocals aren't the problem there, it's the lyrics.
Tha Carter III
>>53776894
>Any NIN album
Not PHM.

Wouldn't most of these just be better if they had a different singer, rather than being completely instrumental?
>>53776894
Nah.
>>53777555
Nah. Nice double trips though.
>>53774972
You know what, in spirit I agree with you that trip-hop would usually be better without the vocals but this is the one classic trip-hop album where the vocals are perfect. You should've posted a Massive Attack album, their vocals were always ruining their tracks.
>>53776894
If there's a weak link it sure as fuck isn't Trent's vocal performances. I think you mean the lyrics.
>Remove Beth's vocals
>>53774972
What?
No way, Beth Gibbons is a fantastic vocalist. She's as important to Portishead's sound as the beats themselves.
i agree with basically none so far, maybe a couple of tracks on yeezus
>>53779932
Every Kanye West song would be better if he never made that HANH sound in all of his fucking tracks.
>>53777850
It's almost instrumental anyways.
Besides Aaron Turners barking is pretty rad.
>>53774972
>>53775046
I actually agree with this. It'd be pretty celebrated if it was a mostly instrumental album with a few features. Maybe some adlibs, hype, and minimal 8 bar verses from Kanye on some of the songs.
pretty much all of random access memories
>>53775204
>GGITS
the only good song on the album besides On The Run
The last track is the only time it works.
passable mc, lyrics are standard hip hop fare
>>53780233
>not Any Colour You Like
>>53774972
>ITT: retarded opinions
>>53780289
That's sort of the point to me though. The "get money, be hood, shoot people" lyrics with the completely raw , "ugy" instrumentals are a way of de-glamourizing the thug lifestyle.
Why does no one seem to see this.
>>53781066
Same reason why ppl don't realize why there's no "I"'s in the title.
>>53781066
would you see them as a sort of critique of said lifestyle as well? i should give it a listen again
Went through this thread to make sure that No Love Deep Web had been posted
Turns out it hasn't
What are you people even doing in this thread
No Love Deep Web
>>53781472
That's exactly what it is.
>>53781478
That's because it's wrong.
>>53780289
Because around here, only a select few artists are allowed to do the irony thing. Everyone else's lyrics are taken strictly at face value.
>>53779992
Eh, disagree. The vocals may be weak in some tracks but I think they're pretty solid in others. The instrumentals alone are very relaxing though.
