Seems to me like a reaction to them getting big internationally. In the UK they've always been fuck huge so nothing really changed there. AM is a great album, not humbug level but still great.
Vladislav Delay. I don't know if his fanbase is just really bad or what, but whenever I bring up VD I always get some shit about how Entain is the only album worth listening to which is total bullshit. I think he's a great producer.
Same applies with Luomo and Vocalcity. I actually prefer The Present Lover anyway.

That being said, I really never understood the appeal for Alt-J. An Awesome Wave just sounds so... bland and boring. Most people I know who dickride the group are people convinced that Alt-J actually created their genre.
I love to sitting in front of the house in the summer, being high, drinking a milkshake all while listening to Best Coast.
It's not sophisticated or deep, but it's just perfect for this kind of situation.

If Pitchfork had reviewed this album, it definitely would be a 10 because of all the drama with Shannon and a debut album causing so many waves.
But unfortunately there is no Pitchfork review on their website for Blind Melon, hence /mu/ doesn't talk about them.
