Fugazi and shoegaze aren't related in any way though and unless you're a non-English speaker I don't know how you wouldn't have noticed the words "shoe" and "gaze" first off when seeing the word. Or if you liked the genre why you wouldn't have known where the name came from.

It's called shoe gaze because the guitarists are constantly looking down at the effects pedals at their feet that are needed to produce the reverb. They're gazing at their shoes, hence Shoe Gaze.
