I never got why people consider HTDC to be a sad song. I think it's a wonderfully uplifting and cathartic track. Even the lyrics are about blocking out the bad and the song itself seems to take you to a different world. It's like the opposite of a sad song.

Huh. Maybe I'm just in the minority then. I listened to HTDC for a straight hour, felt catharsis nearly every time the last two minutes or so of it played, then went to sleep after a breakup and I woke up feeling a lot better. It's not a feel-good song necessarily, but I just think it's a good song for, well, disappearing completely.
