Absolutely. A few years ago, if I'd heard someone going on about the 1970s Lagos scene, I probably would have dismissed it as hipster niche-seeking. But it's the real thing: an incredible stew of diverse, complex, ridiculously ambitious music that absorbed an incredible variety of musical influences in such a short space of time. It's just fucking vital.
