2004 - 2006 : Fidget, 4/4 beat
2006 - 2008: Vogue music, Bmore Club
2008 - 2010 : Juke, Skwee
2010 - 2012 : New Jersey Club Music
2012 - 2014 : Grime 2.0
2014 - ?? : ???

What's hot right now? I'm a bit lost, for the first time in years, I find nothing new..

(please no pleb stuff from USA like vapor wave, whitch house, etc. Or gay stuff like future rnb, deep house..)

hahahaha americans

You start, those are all awful genres.

i don't think you know anything about anything you've just mentioned.

>>
It's still grime, and jungle was attempting a little bit but it's fallen flat.
>>
>>53017714
Jungle? You mean stuff like Tessela and other stuff at 160 bpm?

@others: I meant stuff played in club in Europe. I don't live in US so I don't know what you listened to during my teenage years..
>>
>>53017669
The plebbest of the pleb.
>>
Bumping with great tracks from these genres:

Uhh what?
Is this thread about the next big trend in Electronic Music?

Then you have to look towards the Psychedelic genres. Psybreaks, Psychedelic Trip Hop, Psytrance, Goa.

That's the direction the wider scene has been heading as EDM 1 day festival dies in the arse and more people are moving into the Doof festivals that are much more lax with drugs and alcohol and are several days long.

>>53017733
Nah, that Millie & Andrea type stuff.
>>
2002 - 2004 : Dubstep
2004 - 2006 : UK funky
2006 - 2008: Bass music
2008 - 2010 : Juke, Footwork
2010 - 2012 : Industrial techno
2012 - 2014 : Outsider house
2014 - ?? : Jungle revival when?
>>
>>53017669
I'd say most of modern electronic music is trap inspired, to say at least - pretty much every new genre has that sprinkler hi hat/stuttering snare combo.

Anyone remember when everyone produced trap for about six months? What happened there?
Not that I liked it, pretty lame genre overall.

still a tune though

2015 wil most likely be the year of le vapourwave and its multiple consequent sub-genres.

ayy

no, seriously - all that chillwave, vaporwave, dreamcast, witchhouse stuff features trap hi hats.

a lot of people are also adapting the minimalist sound structure with a very strong bass line

>>53017947
what a horrible track.. that is not even trap, it's dubste
>>
>>53017970
It definitely isn't dubstep m8
>>
"Trap" is just a joke, it can't even make a "genre".
Anyway it's been lurking around since 2010-2011.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xozMkGpiPrM
>>
>>53017989
the song structure, layering style, sound style, instrument choices is all identical with dubstep.

compare with trap, on the other hand

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8XhuFs5ZXs

much more minimal, way less going on, extremely heavy bass, classic use of samples, stuttering

another example

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VZCzCp4v7I

this is pretty much iconic trap, with the stuttering hi hats alternating between offbeat (the "bouncing object" sound) and fast (ticking clockwork sound), hypnotic flow

(sorry for the slavhop example, couldn't come up with anything else that has all the hi hat styles in one track)

Or wasn't it just a rip off of that "memfis sound" that was around since the 90s?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtkOLRuAXDY
>>
>>53017947
hopefully we wont see more trapstep shit, that genre was dead on arrival. At least dubstep/glitchstep allowed for melody, harmony and exciting synth work, but trapstep was all about "doe, listen to this dirty track I made, I just used a bunch of 808 samples and then added some more 808 samples and the bass goes in G all the way bro".
>>
OP here:
>>53017870
Fun, never heard of: "Outsider House". If I got it right, it's the stuff from Pan Records?

>>53018124
This guy knows what's up

>>53017916
Sure, but it's like EDM. It's made for kids who don't really listen to music. It already sounded old the day it started.

>>53017870
Sounds pretty much like Tessela from what I heard.

>>53018094

Does it have something to do with Manu le Malin? Your link sounds dope.

I believe manu le malin is one of the pioneers of the genre, as far as I know

ya kiddin'? it's fucking big beat m8.

Have you heard of Wave Racer, OP?
>>
>>53018880
How the fuck is it Big Beat? Where is the cheap bass, the cheap samples and the dumb vocals like: "THE ALIENS ARE COMING IN THE FUTURE RIGHT NOW FROM THE PA-A-A-AST" or "DANCE TO KILL THE BIG RED BUTTON"

>>53018898
Yes, sounds like 813. I'm a n64 kid so I liked it first but everything sounds the same..
>>
>>53018717
>Crystal Distortion
>Frenchcore
listen to Dr.Peacock and Radium, they are frenchcore
>>
>>53018945
yeah, I know dr peacock

it's just a harder, faster sound with that typical tekno aggresive kick on every beat, but the general idea is still the same as crystal distortion
>>
>>53018927
>"THE ALIENS ARE COMING IN THE FUTURE RIGHT NOW FROM THE PA-A-A-AST" or "DANCE TO KILL THE BIG RED BUTTON"
\wut?
i hope you're trollin tho.
crystal distortion is a complete rip off of crystal method, they didn't even bother to acquire a different name.

>>
>>53019089
You're and idiot.

Crystal Distortion is the stage name of Simon Carter, composer, producer and English electronic music producer, related to techno style breakbeat, hardcore or tribe .

He was a member of the collective and sound system Spiral Tribe, which he joined in 1991, is one of the largest producers of the French underground techno scene ( that of the Free Party and teknival ), with several hundred titles to his credit between 1990 and 2010.

Crystal Method didn't even release their first album until 1993.

I'm extremely confused about you.

Crystal Method is an american breakbeat band from the 90s

Crystal Distortion is a french tekno group combining the breakbeat drums with the sampling, production, melodic and sound structure of tekno - in this case, the french variant (frenchcore).

Modern frenchcore (>>53018945) goes further in that direction, creating a much harder and faster sound, but still adhering to the same sampling, production, melodic and sound structure principles of tekno.

It's like arguing that Beatles is not rock, because they don't have that polished distorted wall of sound guitars like Nickleback.

You are retarded.
