Agree with Grime, Footwork, Comp and Label of the year, while the Breakbeat album of the year is very good it still isn't the one I would have picked.

Comp of the year is the only category I completely agree with, overall decent list.

>>52775865
damn nice list

i would yust get a external soundcart with midi in and out and get a cheap midi piano that use midi instead of usb, you can use this later on syntheziser and modules.

a midi controller usb witha ll the bells and whistless ( faders and shit ) is not needed imo you can get those seperated if you realy need it.
>>
>>52776755
sorry mate i meant like a dj controller
>>
>>52776765
oooh well a cdj pioneer is a standard most of the time, a dj controller can be nice but i heard for a lot of people that suddely play in clubs it suddely feels like a whole different thing and they don't use it to their pottential

a cdj1000 mk3 should do the trick

our a cdj clone like denon our reloop

but a dj controller is still gonna cost you 1000+ dollars/euro most of the time
get one second.

our get cheap and get one of the basic as bitch dj controller that cost like 200 euro.

You got it. The two were Klute - Lie, Cheat & Steal and Calibre - Second Sun, released in 03 and 05 respectively.

Most people tend to say D&B became terrible after the turn of the millenium but there's always been really good releases from a lot of producers post-2000. Just at the turn of 2010/11 D&B got really good again but it's trailing off now (I blame this entirely on Netsky and Wilkinson).

"I don’t know if it exists any more at all. A lot of those old tunes I put on at night and hear something in the tune that makes me feel sad, - a few of my favourite producers and DJs are dead now too - and I hear this hope in all those old tracks, trying to unite the UK, but they couldn't, because the UK was changing in a different direction, away from us. Maybe the feeling of the UK in clubs and stuff back then, it wasn't as artificial , self-aware or created by the internet. It was more rumour, underground folklore. No mobile phones back then. Anyone could go into the night and they had to seek it out. Because you could see it in people, you could see it in their eyes. Those ravers were at the edge at their lives, they weren’t running ahead or falling behind, they were just right there and the tunes meant everything." - Burial

Thanks for all your help and insights so far, guys. I really appreciate the assistance. I really want to find out what this is.
>>
>>52779636
Just rip the whole thing already. I want to hear it or at least have it. It's become very alluring.
>>
>>52777371

Don't know why I put off listening to this, it was pretty good.
>>
>>52779801
This. Even if you never find out, you should rip it for us anyways.
>>
>>52779636
This almost definitely won't work, but have you tried Shazaming it?
>>
>>52779389
i fucking lovee that feeling. glad others get it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV1Yk4_WdiU
always does it for me
>>
>>52778286
p much, the more black a genre is the less drugs there are. just alcohol and weed. md, gak, ket, etc is for white boys
>>
>tfw no friends that like bleep

tired of going to shitty popular clubs
>>
>>52779924
I have, at several different parts. I should mention that side one is one long track, and side two is two tracks.

>>52779908
I don't exactly have the required setup for this. Unless plugging my computer microphone jack into the receiver headphone jack does something...
>>
>>52779965
amen. They always want to go to the same shitty place that plays nothing but Oasis and Mr Brightside
>>
>>52779965
>tfw trying to plan a night out for my bday
>tfw realizing almost none of my friends would be remotely interested

feels badman
>>

try not having any friends entirely
>>
>>52775727
I swear to god horny little faggots ruin clubs
Was goin real well till like 3am when all the obviously out of place fucks flooded the place yelling as if the dj just had dropped an epic edm tune
Also Eomac is a faggot
>>
>>52779965
two options you should do both
>trying talking one of them into going with you and converting him
>go alone and try to meet people you see a few times

also GOOOOAL
>>
>>52779965
>tfw only one friend likes /bleeps/ but likes mostly the complete opposite of /bleep/s than you like

Every time we talk about music the most common phrase we both use is "never heard of that one." His AOTY last year was Geslotan Circle - Submit X, mine was Machine Girl - WLFGRL. In fact we're so different in more or less every way I wonder how we ever did become friends, the only thing we both listen to is Grime.
>>
>>52780149
>Eomac is a faggot
on this I require you to elaborate, just because I really feel Eomac's music
>>
>>52780190
>His AOTY last year was Geslotan Circle - Submit X, mine was Machine Girl - WLFGRL
his taste is better than yours lmao
>>
>>52779965
you could try going on your own. tbh, when going to proper clubs, rather than "shitty popular clubs", being with other people is much less important. like once you're inside it can actually be quite a solitary experience. you just wander into the crowd, start getting into the tunes, and then dance for 6 hours.

the only real communication that goes on inside is like, "you know this tune?", "how you feeling?", "wanna get some water?", "wanna go for a cigarette?"

i suppose it's because you're all there for the music, rather than to get drunk with your friends and get laid, which is the objective of most other clubs. i've got a pretty good crew of raving mates that are all on the same wavelength, but like nights when someone not that into the music comes along they always seem to spend the whole time like blabbering on in my ear about crap, when really i just wanna be able to listen to the music and dance

it's nice to hang out before and after, and chat in the smoking area, but going on your own isn't really a lesser experience that much

did you also hear that one of the guys from 808 state is now in prison for drug dealing
>>
>>52780211
His live set was shit and ruined the established athmosphere (I'm also pretty sure he dropped Spastic at one point >implying live set)
He also put out a really faggoty manlet vibe, but that's just a sidenote
The athmosphere pretty much died with his set too, place turned from a decent techno club to a generic village disco
Psyk was aight doe
>>
just heard Jesus died. RIP
>>
>>52780324

>>

>faggoty manlet vibe
I actually don't doubt this, alright then.
>>
>>52779965
go alone
beginning and ending is a bit awkward but on the dancefloor it's pretty awesome, at least for me, even when I'm with friends I always lose them dancing for a while
basically >>52780239 if your main goal is taking drugs and dancing your ass off you'll be fine alone maybe even meet people
>>
>>52780236
seconding this
>>
>>52780432
Don't let it spoil the music for you tho
>>
>>52780338
he died for my sins, whatever those are. but then he resurrected, so I don't think it counts anyway.

There's so many different styles it's impossible to make an "essentials" list.
Just look in these threads for stuff you like.

don't worry, I decouple music from artist pretty easily.

sometimes I feel like people just hate on MG because of his shilling and japanese aesthetic

I've never actually heard of it done that way, so I looked it up.. Turns out, that might actually work. If anything you should at least try it.
