It has a lot of interesting mechanics.
Gravity flipping, shot bouncing/absorption, Changing amount of ammo, Dashing, two firing modes, no insta-death. Even if you get depleted to 1 HP, if you're good enough, you can make it back up to full. It's also a heavily boss focused game. Stages are fairly short/non-existent just so you can get right to the meat of fighting another boss. It's an incredibly solid and fast paced game all around.
