I like the aesthetic of the sea and loneliness that seems to go with oceangrunge, as well as the whole "atmospheric and noisy" facet, so I guess. I just don't want for people to think that I'm one of the "ironic" vaporwave guys, because I actually take my music pretty seriously and don't want to be seen as a trend-based project like them.
So to answer your question i don't really care. I've gotten a lot of listeners from the oceangrunge subreddit, so I can't complain. People looking for oceangrunge might be scared off when i release my next two EPs, because they have a pretty different vibe than this one.

I'm agreeing with the consensus that this is some goat tier post-genre music, but the production lacks high end. It sounds like there's a lp filter on it, which makes it sound a little flat. Consider addin some high end to it

Yeah. For whatever reason it sounded nice and sharp when I was working with it in Audacity, but on BC and iTunes it sounds muddy.
I've tried mixing the treble a bit higher but it ends up sounding crowded and loud.
Once I finish my next EPs I'll most likely just re-record it from scratch. There are a lot of little things that bug me abut it.

Last question: Are the ambient noises physical synthesizers, or did you just put effects on guitar recordings? I'm assuming audacity doesn't have any synthesizer plugins, although I hear it has midi functionality these days. not really sure.

The drums are the free Hydrogen drum machine software. I ran them through a guitar amp then recorded that, to give them a kind of industrial vibe. After that I put reverb on the through-the-amp recording of the drum track.
I used a Shure SM57 and Blue Icicle interface for the actual recording.
As for the ambience, it's just volume swells and string scratches that I put obscene amounts of reverb on to turn them into atmospheric sounds.
So the only real instrument involved is a guitar.

I've experimented with new recording techniques by making black metal songs, and I've found some neat tricks that I'm going to use for my future stuff. I certainly want to get away from the muddy sound that this one kind of had, that's been the #1 complaint so far.
