I just discovered this genre and I'm trying to understand if I really like it or not.
Started with "Black Sands" from Bonobo and got his complete discography.

If you haven't given Tycho - Dive a listen then you are in for a treat.
I have been listening to Moderat a lot lately--not sure if they count as triphop but their two albums shuffle well with bonobo and tycho.

Bad Kingdom gives me chills every damn time. If the bass doesn't get you the imagery will. I can't tell if it makes me happy or terrified.

If you enjoy bonobo, listen to Andreya Triana's solo album. Also, Bonobo is more down-tempo than triphop.

Trip hop is pretty much downtempo from Bristol. Sure, they have hip hop elements but what doesn't? It's kinda like the difference between champagne and sparkling wine.

The Bristol stuff like Massive Attack , Tricky and Portishead are essential.
