forgot about that one, whoops.

still not sure about it though, as music. it's definitely interesting to hear such a legendary sound techie fella make some sounds... it sounds amazing. but as music i'm just not convinced.

i've seen him live twice now to help make up my mind about his tunes and yet i'm not sure that release is anything more than a catalog of cool sounds immaculately mastered / pressed to winyl.
>>
>>48943326
>i'm not sure that release is anything more than a catalog of cool sounds
i feel it's arranged carefully enough to warrant being called more than just a 'catalog', however, even as a mere 'catalog of cool sounds' it's got more merit than most things i heard last year. the sounds on that thing are quite unreal and as someone who enjoys shaping sound i find it a fairly thrilling listen. i do get a bit 'feels'-y on some tracks too. that opener in particular is probably my favourite opening track off anything last year.

All Techno/House/Grime/IDM is the same, if it gets played in a set
>>
>>48944654
who is saying that club music is a genre? it's an environment / culture that has numerous different genres and scenes within it, many of which overlap and many of which share listeners.

no one here is saying club music is a genre and that techno, house, grime an IDM are all the same except for you.

Shocks On The Rocks

by who, sorry getting into dubstep
>>
>>48951340
i'd recommend south, not just for badman cred. it's cheaper and even though the sloane rangers, islingtonites and hackney parrots think it's unimaginably far away you can go to a night in fabric and hop on a bus and be home in 30 mins. brixton and peckham are expensive but their immediate surrounding areas aren't
>>
>>48951633

Anti War Dub is the safe music critic choice

Midnight Request Line is the "I just learned about real dubstep last month" choice

Qawwali is the "look at how different I am" choice

Although id personally go with Qawwali

I've heard it at bass and house shows as well, it mixes super easy
>>

well surely it must've been tacked on the end of a set rather than mixed in then, considering it's like 40bpm faster than anything else getting played at those type of nights

Really solid, although his uk garage list is like 75% Dubstep (not that there's anything wrong with that, but why not just call it dubstep/garage).

Also sorely lacking in a lot of newer classics

yeah, i don't think it's been updated in a while

which newer classics do you think should be on it?
