The author points out that clubbing and club music is a Western thing and is pretty fucking foreign in places like China so I think we will be waiting a while for a natural scene and sound from places in the East, rather than a scene made for and by expats.
Still, it's an interesting article and if I'm ever in Shanghai I'm going to buy a lot of research chemicals and cut shapes in The Shelter.
