BLEEPCHALLENGE

>Only rules is that you make it from scratch. It's a learning experience. You make a song starting today, post it on this coming Saturday and talk about your mix, your thought process, what you're going for. Also we will be uploading it to clip.it and posting it here. Please be detailed with your descriptions, pictures of automation and stuff in your DAW might be cool too. Try to make it bleep by including synthesizers. Other than that, free for all.

will post about the challenge stuff but I've been meaning to ask for a while-
anyone got experience with painting synths? I've got a couple cheap keyboards that could stand to look a little prettier.

Took a little break off work to start my challenge submission, since it's Sunday and all. I'm going to be doing this all ITB as usual, and this time I want to make some retro-ish 100 BPM stuff.

Right now, it's Omnisphere for everything but drums. There is an analog tape hiss sample I got from gearslutz that I religiously use to fill spaces. The synths are all being routed to a Send with MIDI-triggered sidechain, relative to kick and snare hits. Besides the sidechain, all effects are FL Studio standard ones.

I'm starting out with the song structure and going to fill it up as I go along, so it might be a little empty/minimal right now.

makes sense. what might make some cool designs? (or is that more /ic/ territory?)
>>
>>48420495
Well, IDK, I never have the urge to re-design my synths

But alternative yet classy color schemes would be a gud idea

I thought of repainting the keys, like on vox combo organs or old casios.
It's not so much 'redesign' as it is that the synth I have is in such shit condition (scratched plastic, paint coming off..)

If the keys are plastic, remove them, repaint them, done

IDK what should be so dangerous about this. Research some colors first or whatever
