Sorry dude, I don't browse bandcamp, but here are my latest findings in terms of deep house, which for the majority of them, should not be hard to find for "free":
Samuel André Madsen - Love Like This
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDfiHNadQTM

Militants Of Funk - Drifting
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbaZ5fjxWuw

Mark Nicholas - Luv Me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OC9s0aOQnY

Domenico Rosa - Love Will Lead Us On
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiVHVcOBCrI

Auji - Conclusion Came To You Part 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7UtfzsYobw

Supertape - Nothing Else
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7b5Ng6A9dE

And yeah, 95% of them come for the same Youtube channel, but seriously, this guy has some pretty impressive lists of deep house, I advise you to check him out if you like what you hear.

it's just such a cliche 'deep, british' track. like it isn't terrible or anything, but jamie himself surely must acknowledge that tunes like this are old hat at this point, and have been for a few years now

that said, the hype behind blake from the get go (air and the lack thereof) was absolutely insane.
not to sound too salty or nethin but i'd say that rob getting signed to r&s probably has a bit to do with the fact that james got there first. 1-800 dino is just james and ex-r&s manager/a&r so rob getting a free pass there isn't much of a surprise there.

the guy's okay but he ain't nethin special.
>>
>>48368809
Yeah, apart from a few tracks ripped from mixes not many people will have heard the LP. Shame, it sounded really good.

Ah, I don't remember the Air & Lack Thereof hype tbh (though I was into it at the time - maybe I was just blindly on the hype train).

Yeah it's true that R&S is a bit of a Blake club, with Klaus too.

Airhead is definitely worthy of praise outside of Blake affiliation though. Definite good tunes / producer.
>>

What were those VA? Best Techno Hits 4 Da Club Summer 199x?

First you should start by artists you like: what's their labels? do you release regularly on them?
Check their labelmates, with luck you'll find sounds you like.

Also listen to mixes. A lot. Use 'dem tracklists (if they exist).

But like those guys >>48370953 >>48370965 said, it's just common sense. Check RA, check Discogs...

You should all check out this label I discovered recently called Occult Research. They've only had 3 releases, free digi or on cassette, but they're all top notch, covering house, jungle and acid-techno.

confession time.

i don't like this style of music, i find it boring, featureless and repetitive (i know that the repetition is the point, but it doesn't make my brain slip into a transcendent euphoria of pattern recognition or whatever it is you strange creatures derive from this music)

but i wish i did. how will i be down, hip and urban when all the music i like stopped being made in the 90's.
please help me i am scared and confused
>>

Sorry lads I mean acid-electro. I'm a bit pissed.

>>48374346
Maybe start with something a little more melodic and slightly less repetitive? Maybe try Lone's "Galaxy Garden" or something.

Riko Dan did a freestyle over Mumdance - Take Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL7YkGIEB-4. I prefer it to the Novelist freestyle but that's because Riko Dan is GOAT tier Grime MC.

Topkek. Seriously though I'm looking to expand my folder of producers pulling a costanza face so if you have any suggestions they're always welcome. There are quite a few who just don't seem to have any suitable pics on the internet though.

>>48374603
wow you are a tru blemer

big ups the blemes massive i sees ya
>>
>>48374723
Tbh I don't really participate in blemes, I just use the pics to bump /bleep/ threads when necessary. Anyway, I'm off to bed, night lads.
>>
>>48374790
Hope your dreams are filled with producers pulling off the costanza case.
Rest well, rest easy.
Another day of tryin' to catch 'em all awaits for you

Learning Ableton. So far so good. Have done a few (very shitty) songs. All good. But

HOW DA FUCK DOES HE GET DEM LUSH SOUNDS?

Like, what should I read/watch when it comes to proper mixing? I absolutely love Shed's mixing.

just listen to that bass sweep

>>
>>48379394
he doesn't use ableton
>>

You live in the white island?
>>

s-so what does he uses then?
>>
>>48379469
yh
unfortunately house/techno usually bores me on a night out and club tickets are expensive as fuck haah
>>
>>48379492
real synths or high quality VSTs

he might put it all together in ableton but he 100% def won't use the standard ableton fx and synths

Oh I'm sure he uses 'real' gear (and I bet you he uses Ableton more than you might think)

What I'm interested is on the mixing aspect of it. I'm having such a hard time getting my songs to have...."stage". They sound so flat and lifeless. While's Shed's sounds use every fucking square mm of my speakers. Mmmmm

Terre's mixing is God-tier as well

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xJ2LwssQIU

I've heard he does use a lot of old and cheap gear. And often does not use compression

What do you like? dem breaks?

>club tickets are expensive as fuck
That sucks, but it was expected

Overall : im very jelly
>>
>>48379660
im into dubstep (roots/dub influenced obvs not brostep)
and garage i guess, basically the uk genres
i mean i like techno just dont like 10 hour sets of a pounding kick drum
at least i wouldnt pay 30-50 euro for it when in england i could see a bunch of my fave 140 artists for like a tenner
its a shame theres not rly a dubstep scene here, i wish there was, hopefully if i ever become big producer i can start one
>>
>>48379757
>30-50 euro
das expensive
>>
>>48379918
yeah i think thats the usual price for things like dc10/space where the good artists usually play, altho occasionally while youre out in town you can buy them cheap of ppl on the streets
