"Hardcore punk," thanks RYM.

Why does /mu/ hate this
>>48158868
Lol funny because The Frontman ditched his band for Oasis
>>48159056
If you want actual hc DK try the In God We Trust EP
>>48159082
That's better, I guess. I think I'll just stick with Shitlickers or something.
>>48159109
uhhh what?
>>48159109
i cant tell if you expected something good and got something bad or if you expected something bad and got something good.

Kind of what I was afraid of happening, but Mikey delivered and didn't make The Seer 2.
The Seer is unbeatable for me btw.
>>48159056
This happened to me too.
>>48159343
>joy division
gross
>>48163106
people in thread on here were saying it was basically The Seer 2.0 when it first leaked.
to be fair it was that awful sounding 96 kbps version, but those people were still wrong. I think To Be Kind and The Seer are about equal, I find it hard to compare the two because The Seer's been out for two years already.
>>48163142
So, so overrated.
>>48159981
You're doing it horribly wrong. There's no indication of what it sounds like. All you said was that you expected it to be boring and found out you were wrong.
Kill yourself, you fucking faggot
>>48163181
Because it's labelled on many sites like RYM as post-punk.
>>48163142
am i the only one who thinks hella is boring?

I don't see the issue here.
>>48163547
I think I'm hearing something different than you are.
>>48163628
why?
>>48163657
because it's so clearly influenced by ITAOTS it's insane. It's no where near being a folk punk album.
>>48163675
i hear the ITAOTS clearly (and its done very poorly), but the shitty singing and super edgy lyrics are straight AJJ
>>48162968
So true
>>48163304
I'm listening to their s/t right now and I've been wondering why it's called 'dance punk' when it's just dance music with guitars and drums and a guy talking over it. Movement is what I'd call dance punk though.
>>48163675

>>48163826
Adobe Flash for my girls
>>48163840
I don't know, his vocals didn't strike me as being particularly AJJ-influenced, and he's dealt a lot with his own sexuality so it makes sense that he'd write those lyrics.

why did you think Swans was post-punk. I swear to god where do you fuckers get these impressions?
>>48164011
not that guy, but they both get lumped into "japanoise", even though that only really applies to Boredoms up until the mid-90s.
>>48164040
>why did you think Swans was post-punk.
People label them as such, look around and you'll see.
>>48164040
They have a heavy post-punk influence in a lot of their music.
>>48164040
I mean, they were vaguely associated with the No Wave scene, the music of which was essentially a kind of experimental post-punk.

>>48159067
Not bothered to create an image. I expected some sort of mind blowing experimental post-rock orchestra of drums that would make me feel like the girl on the cover. The actual record was pretty downbeat and relaxing, only Circle, Star, and Spiral were like my expectations.
>>48164022
what album is that?
>>48165985

>>48164530
It sounds like a psychadelic version of Sonic CD, but with better production values.
I love it.
>>48164062
but it's usually their mid 90s gothic stuff, their early stuff from the 80s is always classified as noise rock/no wave

>>48158746
My experince
>>48163496
Pretty much everything Animal Collective released after "ODDSAC" aside from Avey Tare's side projects has been a disappointment to some degree. "Monkey Been to Burntown" at least could have been a great followup EP given how good the b-sides from "Centipede Hz" were, but that wasn't even Animal Collective, just shitty remixes that no one needs. So, "Centipede Hz" completely missed out on a follow up EP of unreleased songs like every other album after "Here Comes the Indian" had. I'm upset!
>>48172265
took me a couple tries for kid a
at first it sounded like a bunch of unorganized bleep bloops and whining
a couple years later I try it and its one of the greatest things ive heard
