This album was prty good
>>47556082

>>47556047
great Album, best Hecker in my opinion
>>47556082
Birth is fucking intense
>>47556090
Im aware of that. im just not familiar with any 2014 ambient releases. i guess i should check the top ambient releases using rym, maybe
>>47556120
How would you describe the sound of this album?
If you want 2014 ambient, check some of these:
>Saaad - Deep/Float
>Fennesz - Bécs
>Kyle Bobby Dunn - And The Infinite Sadness
>Christopher Bissonnette - Essays In Idleness
>Jonas Reinhardt - Ganymede
>>47556156
it feels very empty and cold with some reverb. I'd say it sounds like Pharmakon without the PE, haha
>>47556158
Thanks for the recs man. ill check some of them
Yendai Replica - Viewing Area is a really cool two-part album available on Bandcamp. Digital and watery sounds. Not a reverbfest, just interesting textures everywhere.
>>47556082
Fuck you and fuck off. Stop posting albums I like.
>>47556112
>i guess i should check the top ambient releases using rym, maybe
lmao..
>>47556200
calm down you homosexual
>>47556220
I don't want albums I'm fond of associated with the most insufferable little kid on this shit board.
>>47556230
Maybe instead of hating me, we can be friends, espicially since according to you our taste in music is similar. we can be music buddies

>>47556047

Leyland Kirby Presents V/Vm – The Death Of Rave (A Partial Flashback)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2l1gLswy4x8
Ambient AOTY
Still have not found anything better.
>>47557097

>>47557118
Try pic related. i really cant decide which one of them is better, both of them are 10/10 masterpieces
>>47557294
>7 hours
Yooooooooooooo
I will do this one day.
>>47557257
thank you!
What do you /ambient/ guys think about Oneohtrix Point Never?
>>47557341
You should listen to it when you go to sleep.
thats the concept of the album. its 7 hours long because thats the lentgh of the average sleep
>>47557366
I love his work. i was disappointed by R+7 to be honest but Replica, Returnal and Zones Without People
That said, he isnt really pure ambient for the most part.
>>47557367
Bitch I sleep ten. I'm a fucking zombie on 7 hours.
I wouldn't be able to hear a damn thing over my fan though, so can't do that until winter. Even then at around 7 people start banging construction, honking horns and stuff so yeah.
I figured though. The length, atmosphere and title kind of give it away.
>>47557416
i think you don't understand what the album wants to achieve
>>47557451
pls tell me. i listened to the thing once, dunno if i sat through the whole album, but i sincerely dont understand why you would want a record that long
Aeoga - Temple Treye
Real good spoky ambient released this year.
>>47557538
i think it's not an album that you listen actively, like crazyaga said it's an album that you should listen when you sleep, so it has a subliminal effect on you.
>>47557589
You're a bit simple, aren't you?
>>47557416
Then you should play it three hours into your sleep
why is tim hecker so good bros
>>47559028
Because he is a very inspired and talented musician and he probably practiced alot at creating ambience to become as good as he is
"Tone Poetry" by Black Swan and the new Brock van Wey are high on my list this year
>>47557416
Has anyone ever felt anything at all after listening to music while sleeping?
I've only tried with william basinski and some ambient glitch stuff, but i don't remember experiencing anything after i fell asleep.
Not even a dream.
>>47559662
Bumping because i'm interested.
>>47559662
i sometimes feel aw strange familiarity with music after i've listened to it asleep.
its happened that i've woken up and was in semi-sleep while listening to music, but i cant remember the experience.
does anyone know any ambient guitar loop type stuff? anything like these two, basically:
July Skies
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbx1rYoR18E
Sad Souls
http://sadsouls.bandcamp.com/album/apeiron
>>47560340

>>47561323

>>47561480
Virgins was his favorite album of 2013
>>47561486
uhhh...ok.
>>47561483
ambient music that is played in malls
all ambient music that isn't dark ambient, basically
>>47561323
Cointain yourself in /bleep/ and go on about your shitty britbong dance music with synth stabs from the 90's.
>>47561536
contain your pretentious elitism and circlejerking in /classical/ please.
>>47561550
I don't even listen to classical. I do, however listen to dance music that actually sounds good.
>>47561581
>I don't even listen to classical
nice anti-intellectualism.
Is this a good album? Is Villalobos "mimimoonstar" a good track?
>>47561516
hahahaha, :)
>>47561333
>>47561429
>>47561462
>>47561483
o.o
>>47561536
>shitty britbong dance music with synth stabs from the 90's
Do you mean Burial? Also how come all /bleep/ music instruments go out of date within 20 years?
>>47561581
>I don't even listen to classical
It's revolting that you would shamelessly admit this on a general music board.
>>47561609
>>47561626
I don't have time to go into this. Get back to /bleep/ faggot.
>>47561666
>Ame
>bleep
>>47561626
fuck off ame
jesus christ this thread
Tired sounds of the lid is the best ambient album of all time.
Prove me wrong
Protip: you can't
I can't stop listening to Riceboy Sleeps, what should I do?
>>47561771
>>47561791
Have you heard Klaus Schulze?
>>47561626
As far as Steve Roach I actually like his campy new-age stuff the best. Mystic Chords and Sacred Spaces is my favorite of his.
Anyone into him should also check out Thom Brennan. He does the same thing but better.
Do you guys like Celer?
Quite an extensive discography.
>>47561854
Man, Schulze is so fucking amazing.
