I've done some analysis of Sotos, and I honestly don't think he gets off to it.
He's insanely, to an unnatural degree, obsessed with material we'd find disgusting. But it's in a very detached, asexual manner.
Buyer's Market, like most of his work, is supposed to make you question why the fuck are you actually listening to this. He's actually pretty intelligent about the matter, but is so greasy about it.

Few people take the time to read some of Sotos' written work (which is what he focuses on, the recordings being basically side-projects).
It's just as unnerving and disgusting as Buyer's Market; a lot of it is from the perspective of the killer/rapist/whatever and seems very much like Sotos is praising them, but he'd presenting it from a perspective normal people aren't comfortable with on purpose. That purpose is to fuck with them.
Sotos is so cavalier in his approach because he legitimately doesn't give a fuck, like lots of people in the power electronics/industrial scene.

I've seen Salmon Run posted a few times. It took me quite a few listens to "get it", at first I just felt like the artist was taking the piss with all the recorded laughs and field recordings... Softly Softly Copy Copy was easier to get into.
But it's an interesting album. Just requires a lot of attention and multiple listens.
I'm going to browse other releases on the Kye label; Mineral Orange by Vanessa Rossetto is very nice.

thats an old as shit electroacustic music trick. recording the reverb of the room is what im talking about. some electroacustic guy is famous for it, i dont remember his name. as you amplify the sound and record it, you get the sound + reverb, next time you do it you add another layer of reverb. the original recorded sond goes to shit and you end with this drones n shit. cool doing it in chernobyl though.
