agree. love to see dan barrett in that hood thing screaming and banging a piano.

while we're on the subject, any recs for an album approaching the same subject matter/having the same general theme as this one?

I assume you've heard HANL. Check out the Black Wing is doomed album if you havent already.
Mount Eeerie by The Microphones has a kinda doomy/gloomy/weird lo fi epic folk theme to it but not quite as depressive as GC of course.

also try this album by Grouper "Dragging a Dead deer up a hill". Gloomy shoegazy folk but soft female vocals.

The only album that hits me as hard as Giles Corey is Beach Boy's Surf's up album

Seriously fuck this shit. Their best live performance is for fucking Greed/Holy Money instead of the superior Filth/Cop.

planning for burial - a little less consistent

it's a stripped down compilation of some of his strongest material, played acoustically. they're friends and both involved with flenser and enemies list.
also you should check out >>61238783 even though it's very different. it's so beautiful.

Are the other Giles Corey albums on the bandcamp worth listening to

I know it's widely hated but I fucking love this album and I genuinely would rather see it played all the way through than any of their others.
