Listened to Cold and Nobody, catchy stuff. Could use a little more production. The lead on Cold sounds sorta standard Casio compared to a unique sound. Nobody's percussion doesn't really match with the other parts, same with the lyrics. I think you should definitely keep at it, your songs sound like really good first steps.

Nick Plante here. It's not good but it's not bad. You have potential. I'd just advise on not posting music until you're 100% proud of the project. My older projects are embarrassing to this day. I'd just recommend studying music theory and putting it to good use. It sounds like you're using Audacity. Audacity is a good beginner tool (and can be used by experts for engineering later on) but it really won't help you progress at this point. I recommend you get a DAW with a piano roll and realtime editing capabilities such as FLStudio. If you're a poorfag, try LMMS. Practice with this and you'll get somewhere.
Nick Plante is a hack.
>>66095965
i am very proud of my music. i am also not using Audacity, but a similarly limited DAW. thanks for the feedback, friend.

>>66096263
yeah. some people start making music late but been listening to music for a long time and want to make something experimental so their musical taste outstretch their musical capabilities. I feel it's a bit too early to start showing people your music because at this stage you basically don't want to listen to anyone and just follow your balls and express yourself artistically and whatnot. been making music since i was 11 or something and this something i can do in 10 minutes. not trying to be a dick just trying to be honest.anyway keep it up , you're doing a good thing making music in the first place

>>66096498
whoa, why did they hate him so much? did they not like his music, or just not like him? that's a raw fucking deal either way.
>>66096498
this is nick,
i mean, sure i didn't like the guy because of the bjork posting but i didn't hate him. i didn't really say anything besides that his music sucked (his music in reality is half-decent and better than a lot of bandcamp artists). a lot of people certainly joined in on the abelian meme wagon because he was an easy target. i remember one thread where some anon located the exact town and middle school where he went to.
>>66096550
nick again, he got himself banned. he admitted that he was underaged (he was not) just so he could get banned because of the backlash. not only did the bandcamp crowd not like him, neither did the RYM crowd after the whole "abelian is a poser" scandal.
>>66096567
Nah, he's actually 16. I know him.
>>66096530
But yeah.
Nick started a faux beef with him and no one here (including Abe) got the hint that it was a joke and started ambushing him. Meanwhile the RYM threads started backlashing him for changing his taste so quickly and found out his actual age and banned him.

The most strange and mercurial work in this thread. Recommended if you enjoy hazy ambient that coalesces into more composed songs reminiscent of Eccojams or loose early AnCo (in my opinion)
>>66091450
I listened to this in the background for a long time, pretty textury noise stuff. Not my favorite, but fans of psychedelic experimentalism will enjoy this!
>>66091657
Your work is constant and good dream pop in the vein as DIIV or Dream Suicides. I would definitely recommend your work to more indie leaning friends who dont mind their melodies washed out in tons of reverb. I think theres lots of room for improvement (especially bringing your vocals to the foreground would be a plus). But otherwise good work, you hit exactly what you are going for. Its not breaking new ground, but it will get you playing shows and releasing things on labels.
>>66091835
Pretty bad indie tinged pop. Very clinically produced and seems a lot of money was spent on recording studios / a marketable image.
>>66092085
Excellent ''dreary sad man music'' as you put it. Sort of not much to critique, vocals and guitar mostly are a timeless combination, which is beneficial to keeping your style fresh and easy on the ears.
>>66094637

A while ago went to this open mic night event, where people go to sing or play acoustic and tell jokes and read poems and shit. So this fucking asshole, he goes and gets his electric guitar spending like 10 minutes of his time setting up (the event is only about an hour and a half with a lot of people) and at first he blows the fucking eardrums out of everyone in the place and takes five more minutes to fix it, then he starts playing. He sings like you would imagine a mix of Kermit the frog and that guy from Scrubs being flayed alive. Then after the next act we think we're free of him only for him to come back on to play another one of his shitty, long songs and people start booing because he's terrible and he's making this event into his own concert.
At the end he says "Everyone, I hope you enjoyed that, my Bandcamp is _____" and walked off the stage as everyone booed.
He seems like the kind of guy to browse /mu/ I can only hope he sees this and recognizes the event and never picks up a single fucking instrument again.

It was our local public library, which makes it even sadder because most people there came to see their friends, family and so on perform for fun, meaning most of them were parents, teenagers, or people who came just because they heard there was free food and entertainment, half the town goes. Hi, can someone explain me the difference between bandcamp and soundcloud? I mean which wo you use for what etc.
Wow i'm really late

>short themed electronic ep
>supposed to be kind of beautiful
Haven't really heard any opinions on the second track so i'd be nice if someone could give me feedback on that one

i don't really know but since i'm using both soundcloud feels more for the casual listenener and bandcamp for the supporters when it comes to the audience. Soundcloud is a great way to get attention though e.g. through commenting on other peoples stuff

GUYS! Help me out!
I'm a paranoid person. I want to join bandcamp, it looks cool, but some of the software I'm using to make music isn't exactly 100% legal, much less on commercial license, and I wonder if the option to purchase my tracks on bandcamp (even though I don't expect anybody to actually purchase them) and the "all/some rights reserved" shit will possibly somehow put me in trouble for being a hacker mastermind that I am? Does anybody actually check this? Ever heard of anybody having any problems because of that?

you can set it so that your fans can't pay what they want, that way people can only download for free. dunno about the other stuff tho

you should be perfectly fine
it's not like you're uploading and making money with someone elses music and make thousands with it.
just buy the software and samples you're using when you got the money, there's very little for you to worry about in my opinion
