I know little of evaluating the quality of a guitar, but I need to buy about ten so they have to be cheap. Why ten?
I already own two, and I want one tuned in every key available to me at the reaching of a hand. They have to be six-string electric guitars, not acoustic. Could anybody point me out to a well-built guitar that it is very cheap? I have found one on Amazon that is about £50. Is that my bets bet?
>>
Also I want them to have a fixed bridge? I mean I could just buy ten of the £50 one I saw on Amazon, the reviews claim it to be satisfactory, but I'm not good at evaluating the quality?

whats your price range? if it's like $400 ish I say go with some Ibanez rg's, especially the new 2015/16 models. I own a 2016 7 string I bought new for $400, and the quality is phenomenal. Pickups are great sounding too.

If you wanna spend something more like $100 per guitar maybe try Ibanez gios? Never played one but Ibanez is a very solid budget brand imo and I'm sure they'd be fine

Pic is the 6 string version of my 7 string. Retails for $400

I am not good at evaluating quality in a guitar. My budget is definitely AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE.
The thing I'm looking at on Amazon is called 'Rockjam Full Size Black Electric Guitar Bundle' and it retails for about £50.
I know it's not going to be the best guitar in the world, but what I'm asking is that you don't think it's going to fall to pieces or anything in a year, or that it will arrive and have issues that effect it right out of the box, like it will be tonally inaccurate? What do you think?
>>
I suppose to simplify, I'm asking if dirt cheap guitars are completely irredeemable these days? Or could I get away with buying them for the sake of buying as cheaply as possible?
>>
>>65234898
dirt cheap guitars definitely do exist and are easy to get your hands on, but the craftsmanship and production is going to be ABSOLUTE SHIT, so do not expect something like what you were looking at on Amazon to last long or house any tuning stability. They will likely feel treacherous to play and not hold a single string in tune, something you seem to value if you want a guitar you can just pick up and play already in a set key.

If I were you, I'd invest an extra $100 per guitar if you expect to just pick up and play them. Here's a solid budget model: Ibanez Gio GRG170DX

my bad, extra ~$50
>>
>>65235032
okay I will do that I guess, build up the collection over a longer time
I just wanted a guitar tuned in every key
>>
>>65235173
I feel ya. Spending the little extra bit of money will go a long way
>>
>>65234674
rondo music. cheap guitars, decent build, tons of styles.
>>
Bro, it'd be better if you get a Gibson (700+) Dollars with a min-E tune (automatic tuning with 6 preloaded and 6 more custom) than to get 10 shitty ones that are probs gonna get fucked over the years
>>
>>65235393
changing the tuning is bad for the strings

op why do you want guitars on different keys? i mean the guitar isnt like a bronze instrument or accordion set in a specific key you can easily play every one on standart tuning.

besides you could use regular strings if you change the tuning so much (like metal guitarrist that down-tune use thicker strings)

if u suck that much on guitar tune it in 4th's and learn the scales that way, use your 2 guitars and tune them differently

or you know, use a capo
>>
>>65235898
I want the guitars in standard tuning for every key
every last goddamned one
>>
>>65235426
It's not though.

>>65236033
Why though?
>>
>>65236123
for the sake of creativity
>>
>>65236192
Just buy a capo.
>>
>>65236192
i really don't see how playing on 10 cheap different identical guitars, each tuned the same, will enhance creativity

try other stringued instruments like banjo, mandollin, 12-string guitar, that helps me

i was at the music store today picking up some stuff and i tried out some type of acoustic epiphone guitar, didn't look at the model. that thing felt great, i was really surprised when it only turned out to be $330. i've played for 20 years, i'm not very big on knowing gear, but i know a good guitar when i play it, and i really didn't expect such a relatively cheap guitar to play like that, i was expecting that guitar to be something like $1,000.

i guess my point is it depends. ignore name brands and just play it. you kind of need to know what you like though and you need to be able to judge a guitar regardless of how it's set up in the store, because they aren't always set up properly.
>>
>>65236549
I have a Jose estudiante classical and it sounds great, cost £75
>>
>>65236549
Price isn't just about how they play though.

A year down the line you might find that the bridge has lifted and the bracing is falling apart because of poor glue work.
Both of which are really common with Epiphone acoustics.
>>
>>65234674
I think you need to get in your containment thread.
>>
If you get something in that price range, it will be absolute crap. Just imagine the kind of corners you have to cut to make something that cheap.
I understand you want to tune to every key but the E standard tuning can take care of every key from the F below middle C and up. The rest you'd have to downtime to about B standard and if you do that on something that cheap, it just won't hold. And your "sake of creativity" gives way to your guitar being not able to even hold a note.

Why do you need 12 guitars? You'll spend more time tuning than you do playing.

I have one of these that I bought just as an emergency backup guitar for my band in a tour we did last year. http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbt16sb.htm It's not THAT bad for the money, I guess. It's playable and the pickups are not that bad, build quality falls a bit short though
>>
>>65235426
only if you do so excessively.
i had my G string break like four times in a row from changing tunings every half hour and ended up with a huge stock of every other string, it was a pain. it might have been a problem with the neck or tuning knobs though, since it was a cheaper guitar.
>>
>>65237482
yeah you should get one in each key so you don't stress the strings so much
