Seriously. First, this guy writes a great and relatable episode about joining a sports/military team and a half of the board goes butthurt because they can't comprehend a crystally clear message of a lil' girls cartoon, as shut-ins like them never had that experience in their life.

Now he had wrote a "Being a useless NEET is not adequate behavior, and your relatives aren't pleased with that": the episode.
And yet again, half (well, a bit less this time around) of the board of shut-ins can't comprehend the message and are triggered and offended by the mere thought of their lifestyle not being a gift to the people surrounding them.

It's just too good. I get awesome episodes and genuine clownery simultaneously.

Pretty damn sure. American liberals hate filthy commies and useless NEETs too, seeing as commies actively work against the state we work so hard to build, and NEETs refers to that segment of the unemployed who are actively at fault for their lack of a job. And seeing as this show is all about tolerance, compassion for those less fortunate, cooperation, showing that stereotypical femininity isn't the only right way to be a girl, and working to resolve conflicts peacefully before resorting to violence, I think it still lines up much better with liberalism than with /pol/'s radical right wing beliefs.

But seriously, welfare capitalism isn't communism. Even the Europoors only think they're socialist, really they've just taken welfare capitalism to the brink, but haven't seized control of the means of production, which is what socialism requires. And the good news is there's actually a pretty easy way to pay for it all, one in the finest traditions of small government, the founding fathers, and Keynes:

I think yesterday's episode was great. I don't think it was the right way or even needed for children to see a story like that unless you look at it from an angle of spoiled younger brother. The Dash episode threw out the idea that she is aware of her surroundings by having her stupidly cross the landing strip. She's been shown to follow directions pretty well, especially from the Wonderbolts. It wasn't the hazing that got me mad at the episode, it was the fact that instead of just following the path she had followed before when bullied (which is what she thought was happening) by pushing her arrogance to the max and trying to outshine everyone, they threw in the extra bit of her trying to use her friends personality to get the nickname to un-stick. That was that part that pissed me off.

And, before they started receiving funding cuts in the 80's and were subjected to """""""""reform""""""""" in the '90s, the results were pic related. If a paltry 9% of the money we spend on welfare is being given to fraudulent recipients (http://federalsafetynet.com/welfare-fraud.html), but the result is cutting the poverty rate in half, I;m generous enough that I don't mind. I have gotten zero choice as to whether or not my tax dollars go to jobless niggers who blow it on gold chains and Jordans. I don't care if all the tax amouts to from me is a single fucking penny, they don't deserve it.

And not only is that chart devoid of a single credibe source, it has nothing to do with your argument. It's about povery rates in general, not povery rates in correlation to amount spent on welfare. AND it is six years outdated.

Go back to sucking big black cocks
>>
The issue with the Wonderbolts thing is that it's the fundamental end of Dash's arc, and the entire episode spent all its time demonstrating that Dash was still emotionally immature and not ready to join a serious organization.

From the website itself
>The purpose of this website is to aggregate and summarize pertinent information on U.S.poverty and the welfare programs of the federal government. The website is generated and run by Bob Pfeiffer, a CPA and entrepreneur who became frustrated as he tried to understand poverty in the U,S. and the federal programs, their cost and effectiveness. The goal of the website is to educate the public and push for meaningful change.

Exactly, and it's surprising how many people didn't understand that, I've seen fanfics already saying how "wrong" the Wonderbolts were for picking on poor Dash.
>>
>>27567749
You know the majority of your welfare tax dollars goes to medicine and social security, right? Or in other words, supporting elderly people. The money being wasted is exorbitant medical equipment, medical fees, and medicines. It's a complex issue.

If you cut food stamps out of the equation, you'd save yourself in taxes anywhere from less than a dollar to only a few dollars, depending on what kind of job a person like yourself is capable of holding.
>>
>>27567731
>>If niggers are too dumb to afford food, then they should sell their fancy cars and eat their fancy cakes.
That's not what I said chucklefuck. I was refering to the black's tendency to spend welfarebux without a care in the world as to why the programs are there in the first place. Welfare exists to uplift the poor so that they can get their life on track to join the workforcd, not let a bunch of minorities sit around sponging up cash for the rest of their life.
>>
>>27567768
Well Dash is the hero of her own story. It's just disappointing that her character arc wound up being her fucking around until success fell into her lap enough times to make it in the big leagues.

Dash had dropped out of school and didn't even have enough drive or discipline to handle the clouds in Ponyville, but then she became a fated hero and now I guess it doesn't matter that her one skill is the ability to fly very fast. Celebrities draw crowds, and crowds buy tickets, which is money for the Wonderbolts, I suppose. It's a realistic and plausible path to success, but it's not a very good story and it's a really awful, cynical message for kids.
>>
>>27567805
Personally, I've always thought large corporations were the real welfare queens. They gave Walgreens an absurd amount of welfare money in exchange for a promise that Walgreens would make 500 jobs in Illinois. Then lo and behold, they created 500 jobs that mostly paid minimum wage and couldn't feed a family anyway. Though I suppose that's the benefit of having lobbyists.

I've heard your song and dance before, though, and I don't really care to argue with you. Your perspective is frankly kind of retarded and I know you didn't have to do much of anything to develop it except find confirmation for your biases. Anyone who tries to have a discussion with you is throwing pearls before swine, whatever their stance may be.
>>
>>27567787
Don't change the subject. We're talking about Unemployment checks collected by NEETs, Social Security is another story. Stay the fuck on topic.
>>
>>27567873
No, because you are legit quibbling over a few dollars of your tax burden. Domestic spending on welfare is enormously expensive and getting more bloated all the time, but it's not because of unemployment checks - which incidentally you have to have been previously employed to collect. It's because medical costs are spirally wildly out of control, and because medical companies are bursting at the seams with money, they can afford lobbyists to keep that gravy train running until we all choke on it.

>>27567855

>>27567895
The central point of your argument is that you don't like black people, guy. If nobody changes the topic then your point is made and we're all pretty much done here.
>>
>>27567819
I disagree. From the start RD has been a show off in search of an audience because the knew her prowess was enough to impress. We've seen her overcome crippling self doubt not only to save her friends and the Wonderbolts, but help save Equestria several times over.

Becoming a Wonderbolt was little more than a matter of sticking it out for her. And that is a good message for kids: Sometimes getting what you want is more than just a matter of skill and achievement, sometimes you just have to stick it out until your time comes.
>>
>>27567887
Stop trying to just dance around all the points I make and continue to steer this conversation to something barely related. My contribution, while paltry, is not the issue. The issue is that EVERYONE'S contribution leads to the rising number of these NEETs, which brings me back to >>27567304. It's the liberal voter's doing. You claimed to "hate" them but you post Jew blogs that support the programs that creates them.
>>
>>27567931
What kind of terrible person would let their friends die when the only thing that could save them is the ability to fly at break-neck speeds? Dash has one ability and she's had a few episodes where that one ability was exactly what was needed.

She's a fine character and all, but the Wonderbolts is supposed to be the equivalent of a fighter jet squadron, right? So those other ponies are all officers who graduated school. They hold degrees and went through boot camp, and they know how to follow directions. Meanwhile, Dash couldn't even cross the flight runway without looking both ways - she put on the mentality of a small child all episode, but they forgave her because, and this is the general quote from the show, "You're an element of harmony". Or in other words, a celebrity. I mean come on. It's one thing for Dash to eventually become supervisor of the cloud team because she's been there a long time, but it's another thing entirely to be inducted in the Navy Seals just because you have merely one of the qualities they expect you to have in the Seals.
>>
>>27567951
You haven't been arguing with the same anon. I didn't post any charts. You are retarded, so it's natural to draw casual rebuffs. If I were you, I would imagine you're being scolded by a least two or three people.
>>
>>27567966
>>She's a fine character and all, but the Wonderbolts is supposed to be the equivalent of a fighter jet squadron, right?
No. They're literally competitive show performers on a strict regiment/training program. They're not Navy Seals, they're Blue Angels.
>>
>>27568015
Why then they were called when Spike was rampaging? Are they military, firefighters or performers?
>>
>>27568000
Well, you're all saying the same shit, how was I supposed to know?
>>
>>27568015
And the Blue Angels are all military officers because you can't fly a jet unless you're an officer. There are a ton of practical hurdles between the average person and a position in that unit. I could fly a Cessna until I can make a little civilian plane dance in the sky, but I'd still never get into the Blue Angels. Being able to independently fly a plane is not enough.

Dash was a bit of a tragic character from the outset because her heart was set on something she was never going to achieve. It's like she wanted to be a Blue Angel and she knows they pull from fighter pilots, so Dash did push-ups every day until she became the best in the world at doing push-ups. Then, a few times over the years, she's had to lift tractors off of people or push really heavy things. Heroic deeds, to be sure, and ones only Dash could do thanks to all her push-ups, but also freak occurrences. She still doesn't have a degree and she still isn't an officer.

Take away her celebrity status and she's not really going to fit into the Wonderbolts. It's possible she might make it if she started a career as a solo flyer and eventually got so huge the Wonderbolts agreed to do shows with her sometimes with Dash as an honorary member, but unless she has the emotional maturity to be a Wonderbolt, she really shouldn't get in on the basis of having one extraordinary ability and a dollop of fame.
>>
>>27568045
Performers/Competitiors. Calling them out to handle that situation (and no other incident before or after) was bizarre to say the least, but they clearly are mostly invested in competition (Rainbow Falls, EQGames) and setting records more than acting as heroes.
>>
>>27568045
They've failed every single time, and they never showed up for the invasion of Canterlot so if they're a military organization they're total garbage. At least the Royal Guard shows up and makes an effort.

Also Newbie Dash is mostly for people who joined those sports team, sucked at them, and then got made fun of by the group for being weirdos and weaklings before they eventually quit. That's why they liked the ending where the Wonderbolts do a complete 180 and start sucking Dash's dick because it strokes their fractured ego.
>>
>>27568080
The whole Pegasus background indicates that they're sort of a Spartan society, which makes sense granted they control the weather. In an era before gunpowder the ability to make a freak snowstorm at will would be like striking an enemy with the fist of God.

The Wonderbolts are clearly the same as the Blue Angels and other show fighter squads. They exist to make jets look cool and to make kids want to fly them. It's a recruitment thing. Same reason the Navy lets Hollywood take a bunch of cool-looking shots of all their boats.

I guess that, at the time, the only military unit close to the dragon was the Wonderbolts, so they flew a sortie even though they aren't really intended for combat. They still work for the military and still have the skills to attack something.
>>
>>27568080
Explain then this: "Testing Testing 1, 2, 3": famous ponies from Wonderbolts history.

>Commandor
>Capitan
>General

Also remember the reason wonderbolts were created: protection for princess ponies.

They have military history. Use military language and discipline.

Still just performers? They are at least paramilitary, like boy scouts or something.
>>
>>27568129
>Old Wonderbolts to current ones
The Princesses have the Royal Guard now when it comes to personal protection, on top of the M6 and their Mcguffins. They may have been more militaristic in the past, and still adhere to the principles in their training, but what they do with it is much different than what they once did.
>>
>>27568160
This is clearly false since performers would not be called to respond to rampaging dragon situation.
>>
>>27568160
You are pulling that completely out of your ass to make it okay for Dash to get in.

Based on what we know about the Blue Angels, the only reason Dash got in is because her celebrity status will put asses in the stands, and the drawback to having her is that she's childish and liable to get those very spectators killed with asinine stunts.
>>
>>27568160
This. They have never been seen protecting the princess, even when they may have proven useful (for example, during A Canterlot Wedding they could have spotted or intercepted the Changeling Horde. If they really are still a military organization, they let their entire fucking country down). So they likely have been reduced to just preforming tricks as the Royal Guard took over their duties.

There are such things are civilian aerobatic teams, but they're in an extreme minority. Most aerobatic teams are military organizations, and since the Wonderbolts have commanders, captains, and generals in their ranks, it's pretty clear that they're recruiting directly out of the military.

I didn't see any armor in the Wonderbolts locker rooms, so they probably don't normally deploy an aerobatic team on combat missions if they can help it. You aren't refuting any of the clear indicators that the Wonderbolts are from the Equestrian Air Force, or whatever they'd call it.
>>
>>27568219
That is why they are an elite paramilitary organisation with military origins that besides having some short list of responsibilities (like taking part in Special Operations) participate in performance contests.

It is like having an elite group of commandos that got dissolved by the military due to reasons, and now perform in various contests to remind everyone of their role in the past.
>>
>>27568267
Okay then: why did they send a bunch of unarmored ponies from the Aerobatic team to fight a fucking dragon? Wouldn't they like to have something a bit more protective than spandex? Were they purposefully sending them to die as part of inter-Wonderbolt politics?

There is pretty much no evidence that they are a serious military organization. If they actually are then they are total fucking failures at their job and the entire Airforce needs to be purged and re-organized because they are utter dogshit.
>>
>>27568314
The Blue Angels fighters could theoretically be armed if they were the only squad able to respond to a threat. In an emergency they likely would be.

The Wonderbolts responding to a threat only means that the ponies either don't have a very large military, or most of it is based in Cloudsdale which is too far from Ponyville when a dragon spontaneously explodes into existence under everyone's nose.
>>
>>27568369
That's bullshit and you know it. Ponyville is literally the closest town to Canterlot. It's probably like 15 miles away. Pegasi can break the sound barrier so the real air force could've sent their best men in less than 5 minutes.
>>
>>27568423
Pegasi break the rainbow barrier, which is a silly cartoon thing and only Dash can do it. Also it is not bullshit to imagine that Equestria has a small military or to imagine that most of the air force is stationed in the city the air force is bred and cared for at.

The setting has gotten mixed up and confused over the years. It's post-industrial now, but when it was pre-industrial it wouldn't be odd for a city to be stationed with 10,000 troops and nothing else. An army of 100,000 would be very formidable and usually only organized during an active campaign. There is zero reason at all to have any military presence in Ponyville because it's a village. It's not crazy to imagine Canterlot didn't have an active air force stationed there on that specific day. Assume ponies are not heavily militarized.

It's not bullshit. What is bullshit is to make up a special history of the Wonderbolts just to clarify why Dash can get in when she's less trustworthy than a twelve year-old.
>>
>>27568683
They want her in. That's why. Remember Shitfire backstabbed and shat on Soarin', her own teammate. just to get Rainbow on the Cloudsdale team in Rainbow Falls? Or did you mentally block that episode because it made the Wonderbolts look like a bunch of assholes.
>>
>>27566197

I would give Dave Rapp a rim job and a reach around
>>
>>27568203
Where were they in every other crisis, then? Not organizing a search for the Princesses during the Plunder Vines? Tirek? Changelings? Its more likely that they were just hanging nearby and noticed a rampaging dragon, and decided to test their luck in fixing the situation than being called to action to neutralize the threat.

>>27568204
>You are pulling that completely out of your ass to make it okay for Dash to get in.
What the fuck, I'm not even talking about Rainbow Dish. She got in because she's proven to be a top flier in WA, able to hold her own in EQGames, and being amazing in general in other things. While I dont agree with Newbie Dash's Wonderbolt 180 at the end, she does deserve to be up there with them on her own merits.
>>
Hazing is only okay in a do or die military culture. Literally every other form of hazing is unnecessary and pretty much only done to bully the newbie on a sports team with stuff that isn't constructive.

Flutter Brutter really wasn't about being a NEET, it was about giving things a chance before you give up so you can actually find something you are good at instead of giving up the second you get frustrated. Zephyr being a jerk was unrelated.
>>
>>27568079
I disagree. Fighter pilots are notorious show boaters. They just gain the maturity to keep it in check through their military training.

We've seen how immature Dash is time and time again, but we can assume her time as a cadet and now as a Wonderbolt is allowing her to gain some much needed maturity. This was suggested after fucking up her first show as a Wonderbolt. She not only accepted what it meant to be a part of the team, but even embraced the less enjoyable aspects of it, understanding that being part of such an elite team was far more important than her individual showing off. That sounds very much like a hotshot pilot to me.
