I got the idea for this Starlight Glimmer take-off of Humility, and I really like it. I like the flavor of her staying "more equal than others."
>>27549605
That's pretty badass
>>27549605
It needs something like "Protection from creatures with no abilities" or something.
>>27549690
But as a 1/2, it'll already beat all the 1/1s.
>>27549684
It not having a snow mana ability..
WHAT
>>27549605
A global effect on a creature for 3WW that doesn't even tap the card to activate...?
You fuckers should work for Wizards with balance this bad.
>>27550774
>Snow covered landswalk
Why? Flying is much more likely to matter.
>>27550826
Something more like this is what I was thinking.
>>27550803
>You may choose not to untap Starlight Glimmer during your untap step.
>1WW {T}: As long as Stralight Glimmer remains tapped, all other Creatures lose all abilities and are 1/1.
>>27550913
meant 4WW activation, finger slipped on numpad
>>27549605
This makes me want to "reskin" existing cards and make proxies of it for casual play.Good thing my Magic buds are also into the show.
>>27550874
Nice.
>>27550913
Why not Summoning 3WW, Ability X(T), Place an Equality Counter on X Target creatures. Creatures with Equality Counters are 1/1, Colorless and have no Special Abilities.
Then maybe a second card, her staff as an artifact that doubles her token output. Yes, I know the staff isn't supposed to have it's own power.
>>27550803
It's balanced based on Humility. Turning an existence enchantment into a creature often doesn't cost much more mana, since creatures are generally easier to remove. See Magus of the Vineyard, Magus of the Moat, etc.
>>27549605
Would that effect be negated if you sent that card to the graveyard, or would it persist?
>>27550983
When would it ever persist if the source were gone?
>>27550980
Ok.
>>27551002
>>27550983
Thats how humility works the effect persists, however if the enchantment is destroyed new creatures no longer have that effect acting on them so they remain as they are when cast.
Which colour would each of the Mane Six be? Who'd be stuck in Black or Artefact?
>>27551032
Green - Fluttershy and Applejack, Connection with animals and the earth
Red - Pinkie Pie, Haste is the main reason
Blue - Twilight, Flying and Control
White - Rarity, Basic marshmallow
Rainbow is really the only one that needs multicolor.
>>27551073
Why multicolour one and not all? Surely this theoretical set works best with the mane six covering all colors, to encourage decks for running all six.
>>27551023
I can't find any ruling that agrees with that.
>>27551002
>>27551023
False...if Humility or this card left play, it's effect would stop and creatures would return to their printed P/T.
>>27551032
Here's my very "Element of Harmony"-based versions of the Mane 6:
Applejack
2GG
Legendary Creature - Horse Townsfolk
Play with your hand revealed.
5/5
Twilight Sparkle
4U
Legendary Creature - Unicorn Wizard
As long as you have exactly 7 cards in your hand, Twilight Sparkle gets +6/+6 and Flying. (Note: This is a reference to Library of Alexandria)
1/1
Rarity
WU
Legendary Creature - Unicorn Artificer
Vigilance, Hexproof
When ~ comes into play, each opponent may search their library for an artifact card, reveal it to all players, and put it into their hand. Each player who did so shuffles their library.
3/3
Rainbow Dash
2RR
Legendary Creature - Pegasus Scout
Flying, Haste
Rainbow Dash attacks whenever able.
Control of Rainbow Dash can't change.
3/2
Pinkie Pie
1WR
Legendary Creature - Horse Townsfolk
Haste
Other Creatures you control get +1/+1.
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, untap Pinkie Pie and that player gains control of her.
2/2
Fluttershy
3GW
Legendary Creature - Pegasus
When Fluttershy comes into play, put 3 1/1 green Squirrel tokens into play.
Tap an untapped creature you control: Prevent the next 1 damage dealt to target creature.
1/1
>>27551178
Fluttershy needs flight and Pinkie's mechanic seems off, but otherwise awesome.
>>27551189
Noice.
Though, Pinkie was never portrayed as a potential traitor in the show.
What about Celly, Luna, Chrysalis and Discord?
Are they be planeswalkers?
>>27551230
Chrysalis would just be a black "Vampire" type with Token spawn.
>>27551204
Oh yeah, she's supposed to have Flying. Just forgot it.
I also toyed with the idea of having her make a mix of tokens, like also a Bird or Bear, but it seemed it might be too complicated.
>>27551230
The idea behind Pinkie is that she doesn't really take sides, she's just their to throw a great pary and get everyone's moods up. Alternately:
Pinkie Pie
2WR
Legendary Creature - Horse Townsfolk
All other creatures get +2/+2.
2/2
My rough Celestia/Lunar are:
Princess Celestia
4WWW
Legendary Creature - Alicorn Lord
Flying, Vigilance
When ~ enters the battlefield, destroy all black permanents. (Represents the break of day)
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, if that player controls a white permanent, creatures they control get +1/+1 until end of turn.
5/7
Princess Luna
4BBB
Legendary Creature - Alicorn Lord
Flying, Intimidate
When ~ enters the battlefield, destroy all white permanents.
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, if that player controls a black permanent, they may draw a card. (Face your feeeeeeears...also, dreams = drawing cards)
6/4
Designed to be very symmetrical, of course. Although Celestia is specifically stronger than Luna P/T-wise (still balanced since Luna's ability is better), and could beat her in a fight.
>>27551284
Why not 1/1 "Critter" Tokens and an x,x(t) to add +x 1/1 tokens to any critter?
I wonder if Celestia and Luna could just be a single card, like wax and wane, leave Black for Nightmare Moon.
Aww fuck yeah, a pony mtg thread!
Time to post my unbalanced and grammatically wrong shit!
>>27549605
Not bad, just some notes:
- wouldn't put Starlight's defense higher than her attack; she was much better at the former and was thrown when Twilight put up a shield
- maybe summoning Starlight should be lower with her ability requiring the higher mana to casted
- creatures should be changed to ponies; can't imagine Luna or a big hydra falling to this like the others
What is here is nice and I'd try to buy it.
>>27551189
Twilight's a big flier.
>>27552210
Putting multiple tokens of the same type with varying P/T into play could get very confusing, very fast. It's why WotC did away with design like this card. they're book keeping monsters.
That feeling when I recently wanted to make a deck with Celestia elemental. Flavour text
>>27553040
I'm making a Celestial Kirin deck now, and it'd probably be my best option for an alter to a (non-functionally custom) Celestia commander.
>>27553104
I had the same idea, though the kirin could go disastrously wrong. I'm more in the Oyobi, Who Split the Heavens plan. Seems a bit more plausable and playable while keeping a central theme.
>>27552229
Also this would be busted AF
>>27553174
It's an interesting commander deck because it's kind of like "cards that cost 4 tribal." Everything that it needs to stick to the board costs 4, and it has no 4-cost spirits/arcanes besides the commander, since they'd blow up the Kirin itself. then it blows up everything else by playing spirits, and replaying them as needed via Blood Clock/Umbilicus/Erratic Portal.
I got a little bored and wanted to have some fun so I had a custom card of my favorite commander, with Rarity, made.
>>27553232
Fuck forget to crop sorry.
>>27553242
Really ought to find a commander that matches her thematically, though.
That card is such a perfect Chrysalis.
>>27553257
I know it's not a perfect fit, but I just felt like it for the sole purpose of using Rarara whenever I play commander, and still play with my deck. Plus I just liked her with the hood.
>>27553270
IMHO, the best existing commander to work as a Rarity is Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer:
Rarity, Generous Dressmaker
1WU
Legendary Creature - Unicorn
WU, T: Put a dress counter on target creature you don't control. Its controller draws a card.
Creatures with dress counters on them can't attack or block.
Oh fuck, I made about 150 of these some time ago, custom expansion symbol and everything. Will post some until the new episode airs.I tried to make them balanced
>>27553606
>>27553630
>>27553651
>>27552220
This should be RW not UR
>>27553760
>>27553777
>>27553801
That's it for now, will post more after the episode if you guys want.
>>27551189
at least give Applejack trample or menace
>>27551284
can you do Cadence?
>>27553874
Can't push it too much since the drawback is so negligible. Would a 4/4 trampler be more exciting than a 5/5 vanilla?
>>27553901
I tried to, but it's hard to do a properly thematic once, since "romantic love" is hard to represent in MtG.
>tfw noone gives feedback on your cards
Might aswell post a couple more.
>>27555953
>>27555953
Critique: Illusion completely ignores the color pie. It would be a RG card more accurately.
Reality could really work just as well as a mono-R card. Giving the uncounterable to the burn spell doesn't feel uniquely green, since it's already all within red's color pie of hating on blue/counters.
>>27556000
>>27556057
>Illusion completely ignores the color pie
Honestly I don't even remember why I made it WU.
>Reality could really work just as well as a mono-R card
Fair enough. I'll change it if I manage to find the deck files.
>>27556136
This is pretty cool and flavorful card, though.
I think it could get away with costing 6 or 5, considering the difficulty of activating it (compared to Coalition Victory which isn't overly powerful in most formats).
>>27556136
>>27556192
Also see: Predict (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=predict).
>>27556192
>>27556187
>I think it could get away with costing 6 or 5, considering the difficulty of activating it
Maybe in actual MtG, but I tried to balance the cards as if they were part of a block. The mane 6 alone can grant the 5 colors easily, and there are several other cards that generate mana.
>>27556279
>I'll post all the lands next
>8mb
Here's the basic lands, then
>>27556589
These land cards may be the most boring of the bunch, but damn if they don't look good.
>>27556654
>>27556703
I'm gonna post a few more character/important cards and be done with it.Sorry for hijacking the thread, lel
>>27556767
>>27556829
>>27556847
And that's it, I think I've already posted half of them.
>>27556847
>Discord not red
But why?
>>27557070
Becase the color red has a lot more associated to it than just "chaos". Besides, Discord has that "I do whatever the fuck I want" attitude, hence colorless.
