I get what you're saying, which is why I called it a weak scene, but look at the S5 final. That had lasers in it, but they didn't solve the problem. In fact with how little the laser light show has been before, they did a good job. I mean the sense of scale as Triek towers over everything, the fight spans whole miles, and the beams Twilight and Triek made where huge compared to what was previously seen before. It might not have been the best fight scene, but it was far from the worst.

i was positively surprised of how well it looked. Sure i thought it was awesome that there was a proper fight scene to begin with, but it wouldn't have mattered if it had looked as silly as most action cartoons look like nowadays. But instead they went full anime on this, and not only that, the animation was amazing as well.
That is the beauty about fight scenes, you don't have to know the show to enjoy it.
And it's not like they changed the genre of the show or anything, it was just a one-time thing, and they are trying out new things witch each season. I like that, it shows that the world they are building is really fleshed out instead of being the same problems EVERYWHERE and EVERYTIME.

Most of you want character progression and such, yet hate it when the show makes change. Most of our lore from the show stems from non-SoL episodes also. Not that most casual fans here would care for lore.
