If you want English subtitles, YayPonies > Other Downloads > "Subtitles for Australian pony (UNTESTED)" and "Subtitles for Australian pony SEASON 2 (UNTESTED)". But then again, if you remove that annoying intro the subtitles will get desynced.

To remove the intro you could use something like Avidemux and split the video in a keyframe, that way you won't have to recode the whole video and it's quite simple. You could then resync the subs using Aegisub or Subtitle Workshop. It isn't hard, but it's boring. Btw, Aegisub is old as fuck, I'm sure there's a better program out there, I only keep using it because, well, stick to what you know.

Other than that, >>27394677 solution is the simplest.

Well that's a bit stupid. Who's decided to shove watermarks on the AU versions? Pretty sure the yayponies guy lurks here, will have to fling some shit his way next I see him.

>>27394689
I'm a legit tard. I'm assuming that copies the video and lets me output a new file?
Any tips on how to gather the precise points to cut so subtitles line up?

>>27394700
Thanks lad. I might even try Avidemux but as you say, it's a bit long winded.
I was looking at getting the "Color Corrected" versions, mostly because they have a smaller filesize but seeing as though they use the AU version, they're a pain in the ass.
Knowing YayPonies has sub files is useful too, I guess I could live with that, it's just that damn intro watermark

download ffmpeg
type this
ffmpeg -i YP-1A-01x01.mkv -i YP-1A-01x01.srt -ss 4.171 -acodec copy -vcodec copy -scodec copy -map 0 -map 1 -threads 4 YP-1A-edit-01-01.mkv
change number of threads to number of threads of your CPU (it will use entire CPU and work as fast as possible)
should werk

Above and beyond man. Thanks a bunch. I coped those lines and it's running, literally never used ffmpeg before but this has helped build some idea for me.
Both work so thanks to both of you, finally getting rid of this watermarked shit. It's much faster than I thought it would be too, any chance there's a way to do it for every episode in the Season in one command, or would that be too much?

Just saw this thread so I might be missing some context but it tickled my autism.

cd into the folder with the pones

for file in *.mkv; do ffmpeg -i "$file" -i "${file%%.*}".srt -ss 4.171 -acodec copy -vcodec copy -scodec copy -map 0 -map 1 -threads 4 "${file%-*}-edit-${file##*-}"; done

This works with bash or an equivalent shell. Back up the files before running it though, I didn't test it.
>>
>>27395193
Is that going to map the correct subtitle file too?
>>
>>27395244
Yes, if it has the same name as its mkv counterpart apart from the file extension of course.

This will fuck up though if a filename doesn't follow the pattern of
YP-1A-XXxXX
because of the substring operations (e.g. ${file%-*}) being done on the "$file" variable at expansion. The dashes are the significant parts, so if there's the same amount of them, they're in the same place and they delimit the same information it SHOULD work.
>>
>>27395274
The sub files follow this pattern "YP-1A-01x01", I grabbed the "Color Corrected" files so the video files follow this pattern "YP-7ZA-01x01.mkv"

Tbh this one seems a bit beyond me
>>
>>27395306
Hmmm, try

for file in *.mkv; do ffmpeg -i "$file" -i "YP-1A-${file:7:5}.srt" -ss 4.171 -acodec copy -vcodec copy -scodec copy -map 0 -map 1 -threads 4 "${file%-*}-edit-${file##*-}"; done

Again, remember to backup.

Yeah, I thought you were on a posix shell since you were using ffmpeg (not that that's really indicative of anything). There might be a way to do it with the cmd command language too but I wouldn't know anything about that. If you're still up for it you can download Cygwin so you can get it done on Windows but there would be a bit of a setup. Might even legit be faster just to do it by hand at this point.

I'll expose myself as a pleb here, I like my media to be generally portable, very portable actually. Currently I've got MLP stored on one of those 64GB UltraFit USB sticks that are immensely small. I've actually got the low quality colour corrected 720p versions. Honestly they don't look too bad for what they are and considering the filesize (pic related, actually uploaded this time), but the audio is very low so I've been thinking of grabbing a 128GB stick and getting the proper 720p versions. Colour Corrected has a smaller filesize which helps me put other stuff on there. I don't really have a main desktop PC at the moment, so it is what it is.
Maybe one day I'll sort my shit out but this information will still be useful given the watermark also exists in the 1080p versions.
