It's odd to really be able to pinpoint the moment that someone's creative career went up in flames like this.
This is a great example of the backlash people had against trying to forcibly insert cheap emotional manipulation into what people used to (probably) go to for light fun. I replied to the comic page and to one of the responses to the comic page. Images contain information and can count as a response all on their own. You may have heard of the expression "a picture is worth a thousand words".
But alright, I'll say this the long way. Just for you.

"Loss", from the webcomic Ctrl-Alt-Delete, was the page that basically drive that webcomic into the ground immediately from the backlash.
Normally, things just fade out instead of exploding spectacularly in a way that leaves a mark like this.
This is unusual.
It failed hard because the comic writer forced emotional bullshit where it didn't belong, and the audience punished it.
We are people who know a thing or two about internet culture, so we are part of that audience, or we're at least a current analogue of the audience of webcomics.
SJWs ruin things by making otherwise fun shenanigans all about their pet issues. This is a lot like what happened with the Loss comic from the webcomic Ctrl-Alt-Delete, which is the source image from which all these memes are derived.
We fucked up that comic back then, and made it a symbol of stupidity.
SJWs are doing essentially the same thing with how they poison everything they touch.
