I assume he met all of them after the Canterlot wedding seeing as he clearly mingled with them, evidenced by the photos. I know he met them during the Rainbow Falls episode, and he definitely met and spoke to Rarity multiple times during the Rarity Investigates episode. I'd say that after meeting someone with a hugely defined personality like Rarity three or four times, you would definitely be able to recognize that, especially when you're dealing with one of her best friends.
