I dont know about lulsorandum, but for me the difference was the tone, first two seasons theres no real villains, right intill the finale where we also had three characters dumped on us out of nowhere, that was the warning that this show was going downhill and season 3 was the change, into what it is today. There are still good episodes sprinkled in here and there but ya, its no adventure time, no steven U, no teen titans GO, no wander over yonder, no star vs. the forces of evil, you guys can say faust fag but you know im right

FTFY. And even then back in 2010 we still had Avengers, Young Justice, Thundercats, Generator Rex, Motorcity. Unfortunately all were action shows.
The show lost any subtlety, fun, restraint, real humour since Best Night Ever after Lauren Faust quit. And even then season 1 was a boring slice of life cartoon which didn't utilize Canterlot, Cloudsdale and the Everfree at all. Plus itncompletely forgot about princess Luna for the entire season.
