The unicorn would cringe in terror and the average guy doesn't know how the fuck to use a gun and he would waste all the ammo, missing terribly.

It's a draw.
>>

He's got a point, can we have a trained gun dude? Or at least someone who goes on the range?

Is this a pistol or rifle we're talking about?
>>
>>27134372
yeah, but it has to be an even fight so trained gun dude versus unicorn guard with shitty training that has never seen a battle. The kind that would eat some cake someone left on the floor an die
>>
>>27134396
........the average royal guard?
>>
>>27134418
pretty much, celestia did a really shitty job with them. I bet a banana guard could beat them
>>
>>27134396
So the unicorn brings up a barrier to block the bullets, but quickly finds out that blocking supersonic balls of metal is hard. He blocks 2 shots if he's lucky, then falls over because of magical exertion. He is then shot in the face.

Gunman wins.
>>
>>27134136
>unicorn vs gun
i suppose they could. that gun aint gonna do anything.
>>
>>27134451
im dissapointed but this is what would happen. How about 2 guars and one gunman? i mean the one guard cant even attack back, two unicorns would be more fair
>>
>>27134478
you know what scratch that, unicorns have ranged attack.
Two guards. One unicorn and one earth pony, now thats a challenge
>>
>>27134478
The guards immediately separate to make the gunman have to choose between who to shoot, which to a trained user of guns but has little to no combat experience, gives both of them enough time to find cover. The unicorn fires off a magical flashbang that blinds and deafens the gunman. The earth pony is able to run up to the gunman and buck him in the chest, which is followed by the unicorn ripping the gun out of the man's hands. The guards then beat the gunman to death.

Guard win.
>>
>>27134463
Why wouldn't the gun do anything?

this, it's extremely rare to see magic that doesn't require active concentration for the task.
if a unicorn has a crazy fast defensive reflex upon hearing a gunshot, the round would have to be supersonic to work. this rules out most handguns.

>>
>>27135272
if people really want to disparge this as not show accurate then theyre probably right but retards. rainbowdash can use her body in place of literal conventional ordinance by super sonic crashing into the ground and taking 0 fucking damage from it. shes basically bullet proof. Every earth pony seems to be a hyper muton in strength if we extrapolate from the fact that they tow trains around with rope and can kick every apple out of a tree with practiced ease. combine this shit with the only industrial process the ponies seem to have (mass produced any kind of weather they fucking want) and their absolutely godly knowledge of ecology (they run the planet for itself) and its pretty damn obvious that we wouldn't stand a fucking chance with our current logistic based technology in an offensive war against them.

True, true, however. There is one thing we can all agree on that humans could fuck up ponies with.
Psychological warfare.
For all their power, ponies have little will to actually fight, whereas humans are bloodlust fueled. We fucking invented messing with your head, and would gladly do so to defeat the ponies.
We could lie, cheat, and poison our way to victory. Wear their comrades as clothing, pull at their heartstrings and make them feel like monsters when they have a victory, scream and keep them up at night, eat their brothers in arms instead of field rations while making the POWs watch. We could rend friendships and turn them against each other, the carnage would be fantastic.

Ok so humans change tactics to more heavily utilize LMG/HMG and other higher strength weaponry. Most infantry already don't really leave the covering fire of their ride be it an APC or a heli so it would just mean we were more reliant on the transports weaponry and explosives carried by troops.

Couldn't they just break the gun with telekinesis?
Or better yet just grip part of the attackers brain with magic and pull it. If a unicorn can reach across space and apply force to an object then there's no reason one couldn't reach inside your head and fuck your brain up.

Maybe so, but they have a 'goddess' of dreams on their side mang. I don't think it's going to be all that effective as it would be on ourselves. and I doubt we could turn their friendships against them, we're fucking outsiders, that's like expecting a japanese person from 1943 who lives in japan to be able to cause a civil war between the mason dixon line. It's just not happening.

Wearing their friends as clothing though? that is one trick that I thought would be usefull. I incorporated it into my fan mlp human race, who are obscure winter inuit folk that eat anything they can get their hands on while hiding in environments ponies really have no business trying to take over.

Problem is, we'd have to be getting our asses raped or really dehumanizing them for that shit to fly. yeah theres gitmo, but skinning someone and turning their coat into actual wearable clothing is not something you just do to be cruel. it takes a lot of fucking work, and theres no way that our militaries will get away with it organized as they are. we'd have to have the whole overlying power structure in our military break down and by that point we don't really have many advantages anymore.

>>27137341
Ponies have the ability to do the same. just send in the windigos. ponies have had their own cold war looming over their heads since they founded their country.
>>
>>27137439
Because humans have an innate force sensitivity, basic training stops ponies from affecting internal body structures with their weak magic.
Not to mention how worthless they are in close combat, once we get the inquisitors to close in they just fall apart.
>>
>>27137446
ponies are increadibly socialist. they just aren't communists like starlight wanted. they even have their own princess of the nanny state, who goes on missions specifically using government funds and muscle to address the concerns of the dissatisfied instead of relying on the invisible hand of kekipalism.

didn't twilight or spike say most unicorns can only learn like six spells. More often than not these are not combative or shield based.

So like you'd in encounter the rare unicorn that could put shields but it would require like a magic and shit...which is limited. If someone got a fully automatic, they'd be screwed.

Also Magic is like affected by weight and therefore force, which is affected by speed. so.... if you fire a shit ton of lead at a high speed it'll wear down the ponies shield.....in short....I really don't think a they'd be able to last against a gun.

Twilight, Celestia, Luna, maybe Candace could withstand it but remember most magical creatures arn't that powerful or know shielding magic for that matter. Those are like special cases.

are humans willing to restrict their combat methods to what they fought each other with in recent years? or does chemical warfare, cluster munitions, and napalm come back when they're backed into a corner?
to be fair, we also don't know what limitations that ponies put on themselves in terms of onscreen combat.

as far has physical capabilities, humans have some interesting ones. unrivaled manipulation of objects, high endurance for a biped, extremely efficient brain matter. Humans have endured g-forces far more than Dash does

This is a Honda Civic made in 1978. It can reach speeds in excess of 120 km/h and weighs ~700 kg. This gives it ~23 MNs. This is enough Newton seconds to make you wish it wasn't going right at you.

This is China. It has been estimated that it can wield and supply a conscript army of ~100 million infantry. This is enough soldiers.
>>
>>27137507
>>are humans willing to restrict their combat methods to what they fought each other with in recent years? or does chemical warfare, cluster munitions, and napalm come back when they're backed into a corner?
This is an offensive war of the humans. The ponies could not effectively take human cities nor govern them. The most they could do is lock them up in storms if they could figure out how to transport them over, and do strikes on key locations. so humans would never be backed into a corner.

>>Humans have endured g-forces far more than Dash does
Dash crashes into the ground naked at super sonic speeds then goes on a picnic unscratched. it might even be several times more super sonic than usual, I really have no idea how to calculate how much force dash put on her body, but she basically used it to create an pint sized impact crater. one sliver of the impact radius could easily bury both of her friends from a far distance.

>>Trains have low rolling friction by design, a similar group of trained (heh) men could produce similar results
I find that hard to believe, if only because what you're looking at is a group of humans actually moving the entire train itself. is that thing just the locomotive? or does it have actual cars attached to it? I mean, its like comparing a bunch of humans pushing a car slowly, to people who can drag it over decent land speeds.

>>jhumans have been modifying weather for years
this is the equivelent of saying ponies have been using weapons for years, human guns aren't anything significant. Ponies can basically churn out hurricanes, tornadoes, and lightning storms at a factory pace. they can flood an advanced military outpost easily. Human beings are like bronze aged swordsmen in this technology.

man you just don't let up with this crap do you? are you seriously about to plug your ears and scream humans fuck yeah?

Ponies control their entire environment, including the animals that live there. they determine their winter cycle, fall cycle, spring, and summer cycles. We cause giant mud volcanos and sinkholes to appear because of our industry and we can't do anything to stop it. Our farms and environments are overrun with creatures that don't belong there and are pushing out other wildlife. Ponies don't have these problems. not becuase they don't exist, but becuase they have enough information and expertise to game their entire environment. There's no doubt that they have something similar to crossbreeding and matter manipulation. They have a medical and dye industry big enough that its affordable for almost anyone. they have the technology and economy to impose a weather system thats carefully calculated and scheduled over their entire country. Our knowledge of practical ecology is fucking nothing compared to ponies.

>>
>>27137579
I wasn't aware that it was strictly offensive, forgive me. Though, humans have done nastier things in the past just for showing power.

given Dash's estimated mass from many infographs of pony size over the years, the acceleration to 0, and the distance travelled, the examples given had more energy expended during deceleration. the F1 crash decelerated to 0 in 66mm. now as for dash being unscathed, that seems to be inconsistent depending on the writer. due to writing, we might have to call it a draw.

the video was of 1 man pulling a functioning locomotive. now imagine that the locomotive doesn't need to be functional and has 12 or so men pulling it. if the locomotive is a rolling shell, and the train cars are scaled down to pony gauge, it is more than plausible.

humans have caused earthquakes, experimented in creating typhoons to attack enemies, currently researching dispersing lighting with lasers. we have killed using weather so extreme it's generally reserved for solar storms in space.

by a fucking shape shifter hoped up on enough love to hard counter their royalty, and even more hilariously, you assume that the changlings who require equestria to prosper in order to feed off them, wouldn't fucking temporarily ally themselves with them to knock out the humans war of aggression.

Yes but the fact a unicorn can open a jar shows that they can put complex force on parts of an object, and the brain is pretty fragile. Most unicorns would be to retarded to think about this, if they did the changeling invasion would have been pretty short.

Okay there, bud. If you want to ignore facts then go ahead. Just be aware of how much of a faggot you are.

>>27137780
>>your arguments use assumptions to prove your point, while ignoring unknowns that could be negative to that same point. normally that is fine if you preface it properly, but you state these assumptions as fact.

they are facts you retard

which is ironic becuase here you are saying humans can create and direct typhoons to kill people on the level of gamma radiation from solar winds and I dont see a single fucking hint of anything to substantiate it.

ugh fine I'll break down your post point by point.

>Ponies control their entire environment
Except certain areas. Everfree is an obvious one but Appleoosa is also a good example. Instead of terraforming unused ground they used the river as a source of water
>including the animals that live there.
Kind of pointless. I'd much prefer the animals take care of themselves so that we don't have to expend resources looking after them
>They determine their winter cycle, fall cycle, spring, and summer cycles.
Kind of a good point. Until you realize the season changes seem to mostly be ceremonial.
>We cause giant mud volcanos and sinkholes to appear because of our industry and we can't do anything to stop it.
We can do things to stop these things and infact do prevent them in non-third world countries.
>Our farms and environments are overrun with creatures that don't belong there and are pushing out other wildlife.
Most invasive species are there because we want them to be there(Cows, Pigs, Chicken). The ones that aren't simply aren't doing enough short term damage to justify expending resources to fix
>Ponies don't have these problems.
Speculation
>Not becuase they don't exist, but becuase they have enough information and expertise to game their entire environment.
Speculation
>There's no doubt that they have something similar to crossbreeding and matter manipulation.
Speculation
>They have a medical and dye industry big enough that its affordable for almost anyone.
so they're on the same level as 1920's humanity?
>they have the technology and economy to impose a weather system thats carefully calculated and scheduled over their entire country.
They have the technology but their economy seems limited since they do not seem to have complete control.
>Our knowledge of practical ecology is fucking nothing compared to ponies.
Speculation

no, we fucking can't you retard. Even first world economies don't have the money to start filling every bit of erosion and sinkholes. flooding and erosion is a consistant problem every fucking year.

>The ones that aren't simply aren't doing enough short term damage to justify expending resources to fix

the world is not a fucking linear tech tree you mongoloid. Ponies are obviously enormously ahead in some ways and way behind in others, theres no technology in this world today that just consists of materials and means for doing things. the attitude, economy, and situation matters far far more.

>>
>>27137959
>>i'm not the original guy
and that is irrelevant, you joined a conversation with baggage attached to it, so its your responsability to know the context of your own statements.
not that anything I said is related in any way to previous posts. every criticism I gave of it was inadvertantly pretty self contained, because the conceit of "everyone I disagree with is obviously samefag" is an ever present stench of diarrhea all over 4chan and has basically nothing intrinsically to do with this argument.
>>
>>27137942
I didn't claim that they were superior, only that humans could match it if they put their minds to it. are many of those things matching magic weather town in the sky? no. but hasn't humanity shown accelerated progress during wartime? does that mean that they will stamp out the cute horsies like it's nothing? no. I am showcasing potential. I think there is another anon poking you with a stick for fun, and yet another who is doing the superiority argument you refer to.

>>27137959
you care a terrible person for even joking about such things, anon
>>
>you bet I'm fucking mad our species is an arrogant shit stain that will never, fucking ever be able to look at something someone else does better than us and not masturbate furiously over how secretly better than them we are.

well its pretty obvious we are the superior race
we exist
>>
>>27138001
are you roleplaying as a unicorn and talking about the other two races?
>>
>>27137980

Humans would have to build machines that could direct weather, machines that could create clouds, and machines that could shape and charge them. This is not within the scope of a single or even multiple wars, and if it were, the earth would be a very different place than it is now.
>>
>>27137977

>>
>>27138020
>cross the trench filled with guns
>kill the enemy recon pilots
>pierce the knight's armor
we've done it before. it won't be on the scale of terraforming a planet, but local weaponized weather seems within a world war scale conflict's tech evolution, given where humans stand as of now. even just a "safe zone" of weather over troops, negating the pone's artificial weather, is enough for a reasonable counter.

Don't discount humans being shitstains to each other preventing peacetime progress.

but being a futurist is a pseudoscience at best, so keep that in mind when I say this.
>>
>>27138069
>>cross a trench is comparable to building a system of weather control that could revolutionize everything.
Vehicles have existed long before tanks, this is more akin to trying to build cars to run people over in the 100 years war.
>>
>>27138082
they looked far more medieval than any car from 1917
tanks were introduced without notification to ground troops on both sides, and first reports of them from troops make them sound like then enemy has dragons
weather control exists in a very limited capacity, like motorized transport was. while the scale might seem off, I'm using the resources of a unified human race as reference, rather than a 2 sided human conflict in a single region of the world.

what I question with development is:
>how long is this war?
>what is the motivation?
>how are humans staging themselves on the rear lines? from space? a small portal on land?

if the conflict is long enough (world war) or the motivation is some form of desperation (humans escaping a dying planet and need to conquer a new world) it is very possible

a small conflict would most likely end in peace before anyone got their shit pushed in anyway.
>>
>>27138151
>>what is the motivation
Probably at first resouce stealing scum bags like we are, and then the world becomes outraged at the strange aliens ignoring the geneva conventions on weather based warfare against a superior opponent. I have a hard time believing in a unified front as this is an offensive war, there are plenty of peon countries in our world that are buttmad at being in a hot shot's sphere of influence that would love to use this time to NOPE the fuck out and do what they want.
>>
>>27138167
oh and as for the duration. I honestly have no idea. It's to sensitive to politics.
>>
>>27138167
if NATO, Russia, China, and India worked together for long enough, I'd consider that as unified as the human race could get.
as for the weather modification ban, it only applies to UN nations that were present to sign it in 1977. Several major powers weren't there and would likely be used as a political loophole.
>>27138176
that is very true.

this all becomes very particular to the specific events once you look into the details. no wonder why most anons give up on this and just resort to shouting.
