All the episode did was add another ship for Spike, nothing more and nothing less. Nowhere in the episode did Spike once show the same level of affection towards Ember like the way he does towards Rarity, not even a hint of a crush. All we got is some confused dragon girl that may or may not be into Spike and Spike who sees her as a good dragon friend. That's literately it. Honestly, it's starting to look more like a tragic love comedy more than anything. Ember "likes" Spike but Spike likes her as a friend, Spike likes Rarity but Rarity likes Spike as a friend, Rarity likes [insert stallion] but [insert stallion] likes any other pony but Rarity. Quite sad really.

Spike is literally only a few years younger than Twilight and the others by at least no more than 5 or 6 years, and yet he is still a baby dragon.
