Probably because she wanted a fun hobby to do that didnt involve her cutie mark or skills at all. Twilight Time already showed she has aptitude for potions.
Scoots in this episode did bungee jumping, and Sweetie tried crotcheting and had fun with it even though it isnt her talent at all. The point was for Bloom to find something she could just do for fun.
