Funny story. My girlfriend hadn't watched the show since season 3 ended. She decided to sit down and watching the season 6 opener and asked me if they'd replaced Tara Strong for some reason.
Twilight is written that differently. To someone who hasn't been watching the show or watched her slowly evolve into Princess Sparkle, it feels like a completely different actor took over the role.
That's not character development, that's a character warping into a totally new and unrelated shape.

Vanilla twilight does feel a lot more different than this one. Yeah, character "development" and all that, but its like barring an odd moment or two, she's really uninteresting and almost a shell of what she once was.
I dont care for the wings, her slightly taller form, or that new mane curl, but she really feels more closer in line with a plot element than a character barring a few small occasions.I honestly feel her distrust of Discord and the need to organize her reading material are the last shreads of her character that's left.
