The sensible part of me is saying to just let it be and don't try to introduce him to any of it. If he thinks nothing of it then you don't need to prove anything or justify why you like it. But if he's into related things like cartoons/comics/etc you could mention there's a new season starting and invite him to marathon some episodes with you if that's the kind of thing you guys would normally do.
