I unscrewed the seat-portion of a computer chair and attached it to a folding chair via a coat hanger bent into farmer's eyes. Does that make me handy?

How are your expenses so high that you can't spare 1000$ for something that will bring you great joy for years to come
>>26837566
This is exactly 50% good advice.
>>26837498
>pony fandom is still a thing
>plushies are still in demand
>they aren't as expensive as they used to, but you can still slam a couple hundred with a good design
>you could make your money back in 4-5 projects if you're as good as you say
There is nothing that should be stopping you.

It's because my pay is so low.
I work sub minimum wage, for the crime of being unemployed I must do so, 6 months a year, by rule of former grandmaster priest tony abbot.
Australia sucks.

That it does that it does
We will get a good government someday
For a while there the best way to get elected was to show you were more against imirgration then the other guy.

I mean fuck we had a treasurer who did not know the tax free threshold
You should keep going young man.
I know this 60 year old tailor who I have been going for years. He apprenticed under his brother when he was a teen and made his own ckothes at 20. It's always delightful going to him and learning new things about tailoring and clothes making. Here's a jacket he's almost finished making for me

Well shadow treasurer but still.

So what you're really saying is that Rarity is your waifu.
>>26840020
Yes
>>26837670
Surely you can get needle and thread, scissors and some cheapy bargain cloth? You could at least make patterns and try things out.

I have one. They aren't that great.
>>26843527
Two, actually. One from the 1920s and a much more recent one. I like the old one better. Noisy though

>>26837670
Do you have bones lying around? It's Australia, so I'm assuming enough motherfuckers die every day that you should. If not, use a food bone. There's your needle. You're halfway there already.

What gave you the idea I'm a "shitposter". I do hold "controversial" views in a largely juvenile and contrarian board but that hardly constitutes as a "shitpost". It's healthy to have opposing views.
As for the OP I'm glad to see young men take interest in the sartorial arts. While most of the boys here might want the young man to persuade him to make plush toys I think it would be more beneficial for him to persuade a serious sartorial trade. Not only would he gain even more knowledge than just sewing but also othrt skills. Picture is a personal pattern mu tailor drafted for me. It took him two hours and to me it seems complicated. A personal pattern ensures the most flexibility when it comes to cutting a garment and adjusting it for an optimal fit, especially for those that have physical abnormalities.
The jacket I posted costed about 1.3k dollars and a pair of pants bumped the cost to about 1600$. It's about a month of labor but that's with him having other projects with clients.
So it is a serious trade and one that's in decline thanks to the casualization of society, but one that is still valued
>>26846298
It takes him a month to make? What a filfthy casual.
