Well there is a window of time where new episodes are being written and Hasbro can't send any of it to IDW, so any comics written during that time can't possibly consult finished scripts. And Hasbro probably doesn't even send the stuff as soon as it's done, they probably take their sweet time.

Ted being a shitty writer is almost as bad as him being a shitty person. What's worse is that he's complacent: he doesn't care if people treat his stuff as mattering at all so he doesn't even try.
Whitley on the other hand thinks his shit doesn't stink so much that he wants his scripts directly adapted into episodes. 99% of the time they wouldn't work as them, but there's still the potential in some.
