Except the artists and other creators are not the hand egg team, that's what the show and other official material should be. The fan creators are more like the merchandise dealers concession stands, side businesses that profit or gain notoriety off of the audience that watch team but want more. The side businesses may or may not be fans of the team, but the audience certainly is.

Because they are what compose the fandom you ignorant twat. When an artist makes a fandom related work, he does it for the fandom, to appeal the fans, without them there wouldn't be anything to contribute to and the fandom wouldn't exist.

The thing they love is the show, you don't need to be an artist to love a show
The real question should be....why are artistic contributors who aren't fans considered part of the fandom? I know tons of pony artists who don't watch the show, but do it because they simply can draw and MLP is a popular franchise so they know it's a way to get popularity
Goes for writers, musicians, whatever else too who don't watch the show, if you write about MLP or MLP type characters but actually don't like the show, you're technically not a fan...so you're not part of the fandom, you're an individual artist who's basically aping art other people created for personal gain

I can't draw, I don't like any artist in particular; but I'm a pony fan, a brony, and I'm an activist for equal rights movement. I aspire to help people feeling better, even if my contribution is invisible here, I prevented many people from committing suicide. other bronies chased from their parents home for coming out as gay. I'm glad someone opens the topic somewhere because I think enforcing the spirit of ponies is much more important than helping furries making cash out of a fandom just because they had the privilege to learn to draw and do something creative.

Uh, I agree you are a skilled artist and probably 'worked' hard to achieve mastering probably pirated software, but what gives you the right to
• Use someone else (Hasbro) 's property for profit, and monetize anything pony you make...
• Spend all time drawing things that will be posted and reposted on booru or some creepy furry sites but DENY someone else's request?
• Define prices way above the average hourly wage like you're someone better than others just because you can draw?
Instead you could respond like,
• Indeed you're doing an awesome work, and because I support your cause or fight I will help you out!
• We can help eachother, I will use my fans to relay your site with a link on my submission and you will help me gaining visitors!

Not a fan of art, but I'm the guy who's been posting in game threads recently since I'm trying to contribute to /mlp/ by modifying a game so others can enjoy it.
If I can't modify a game for /mlp/ due to reasons such as not knowing the code or not having the capability to decompile a game, that sucks, but it happens. This is the more common thing to happen, and as such I have been taking the time to learn coding and graphical design.
My hope is that I can contribute in the near future for all the years /mlp/ has provided me entertainment, and pay back that entertainment and joy in full.
