I remember. Rewatching Season 1 is bittersweet now. I'm so nostalgic for when it was all new and fresh, and simple dialogue scenes like Fluttershy meeting Twilight for the first time. The magic is still there, though. Friendship ain't dead, it just grew up.

At a certain point, I started getting what I wanted.
Discord came back. Twilight became ascended, and became an Alicorn. There was a big, badass magic battle.
And I disliked all of it. Discord suddenly lacked teeth, Twilight's ascension was handled in the clumsiest way possibleto the point where major characters sang a song about how they had no idea why the fuck huge physical alterations and becoming godlilke royalty didn't effect her life, which felt like some sick jokeand the magic battle ended with the writers pulling all-powerful artifacts out of a hat and instantly removing any tension the scene had.
Now I barely even post on this fucking board, because all the prompts are shitty wish-fulfillment, and you can't discuss the show without people jumping in and screaming at you for disliking literally anything.

I'm in the same boat as you, but I still stay on the board for quite a bit of time. Honestly don't know how I manage to still spend as much time here considering how many shitty prompts and generals there are, it's certainly not like 2012/2013 where I could be entertained for hours.
Well, /ck/ and /int/ are still fun at least (but the latter may be falling into the same generals hole as we did)

Oh and I forgot to mention, that tirek fight really killed me. What the fuck were they thinking? I don't want giant magic fights, it looks stupid and they sidelined the m5 and discord. Not to mention treebury was killed. I used to say I wanted the show to continue on forever, but I think I'll rescind that wish
