The comic became a trainwrek of different writers trying to push their own headcanons and using their comics to stomp on other writer's stories, plus the artists kept drawing things "their way" and so the characters were practically irrecognizable from one issue to another, etc.
Penders himself stuffed the comic with his retarded Ocs (mostly plain Knuckles recolors) and tried to make everthing go around them, etc.
Basically, the comic shifted from comedy to drama to romance and so like an hyperactive monkey with ADD without the tiniest attempt to keep things coherent, and the drawings jumped from chibi to human-like, to furry and to hyper realistic (Eggman's robotic daughter), sometimes all at once on the same page.
